In reply to: [Page Visits Counter - Lite] Titles not in listHi Maysie,
thanks for using the plugin and for reporting this.
I believe this is related to how the plugin handles title/URL changes, as noted in the plugin documentation:If you rename an existing post/page/product, the old entry remains in the Page Visits report with its original count. After the renamed post receives a new visit, a new entry (with the new name) will appear in the report and its counter starts from zero.
Because of this, a renamed post may not show up in search under the new title until it gets at least one new visit, which is likely why it may seem inconsistent.
So what you’re seeing is expected behavior, not missing posts or a hidden list issue.
Also, don’t forget to log out when visiting the post, so the visit will be counted.
Please let me know if this explanation helps.

In reply to: [Page Visits Counter - Lite] Set start number in countersHi Han,
Thank you for the kind words! I’m glad to hear the plugin is working well for you.
Yes, there is a way to manually set or update the visit count for any page. Here is the step-by-step process (which I admittedly missed covering in the video tutorial):
- Trigger the page entry: First, visit the desired page in an incognito/private window while logged out of your site. This ensures the visit is registered.
- Locate the page in Dashboard: Go to your WP-admin dashboard and navigate to the ‘ALL PAGE VISITS’ tab.
- Find the specific page: Look for the subsection titled ‘VISITS BY PAGE NAME’.
- Expand and Edit: You will see a small arrow pointing to the right next to each page name. Click on that row/arrow to expand the section.
- Update the count: Once expanded, you will find an option to manually update the number of visits for that specific page.
This allows you to easily sync your previous statistics. Let me know if you need any further assistance!

In reply to: [Page Visits Counter - Lite] Specific Page/URLHi,
thank you for reaching out and for the detailed explanation — I understand your use case and the background with the legacy counters very well.
At the moment, Page Visits Counter – Lite is designed to track visits only for standard WordPress entities that are handled by WordPress itself (such as posts, pages, custom post types like products, and their related archives). It does not currently support tracking visits for arbitrary or manually defined URLs, nor for standalone static HTML pages that exist outside of the WordPress routing/query system.
Because of this architectural limitation, counting visits for a specific archived HTML page or a custom URL that is not a WordPress object is unfortunately not possible with the plugin in its current form.
That said, I do appreciate you taking the time to explain your scenario, and I understand why a modern replacement for old CGI-based counters would be useful in such cases.
Thanks again for your interest and support.
Best regards,

In reply to: [Page Visits Counter - Lite] Page counter not displayingI’ve checked your website again, and I can clearly see the “Total Page Visits” counter displayed on each individual page.
If you don’t see it on your side, it’s most likely a browser cache issue — your browser might be showing an older, cached version of the page.
Please try opening your website in Incognito / Private mode, or in a different browser, and check if you can see the counters there.
Here are the pages where I can see the Total Page Visits counter visible right now:
And on the Homepage (https://broadlandmodelrailwayclub.co.uk/), both counters are visible — Total Site Visits and Total Page Visits.
So it looks like everything is working correctly, but your browser is likely caching the old version.
You’ll need to clear your browser cache, as described in the plugin documentation, or look up a short YouTube guide on how to do that for your specific browser and version. Please try that and let me know if the counters appear afterwards.

In reply to: [Page Visits Counter - Lite] Page counter not displayingHi @rynd2it,
I’ve checked your website and here’s what I see:
- On the Homepage, there are two counters — one above the “Top Menu” button showing Total Website Visits, and another below it showing Total Page Visits.
- On all other pages, there is one counter displayed under the “Top Menu” button showing Total Page Visits.
Can you please confirm if this is the behaviour you were expecting,
or would you like the counters to appear differently (for example, both counters on all pages)?Best regards,

In reply to: [Page Visits Counter - Lite] Count not updatingOne more thing, as it is only one post.
Did you maybe change the post’s title so you see the old post title in the admin dashboard?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Page Visits Counter - Lite] Count not updatingHello Maysie,
I have reviewed the older post from the link you provided, and the visit counts appear to be updating correctly.
Since you mentioned that the data set in the admin dashboard does not reflect on the frontend, I can only assume this is due to some form of caching still being active elsewhere.
There are a few possibilities:
- Plugin-based caching: You may have multiple plugins installed that include optimization features, some of which could be caching the page. You can identify the responsible plugin by disabling them one by one until the issue is resolved. Once found, clear the cache from that plugin’s settings.
- Server-side caching: Your hosting provider may have a caching layer in place. You can contact their support team and ask if there is any server-level caching (e.g., within cPanel) and request instructions on how to clear it manually in the future.
- Cloud-based caching: If you use a cloud service like Cloudflare, it may also be caching your page. You can try clearing the cache through the Cloudflare dashboard or follow their documentation for guidance.
- Theme conflicts: If the issue persists, try temporarily switching to a default WordPress theme (such as Twenty Twenty-Four). If the visit counter updates correctly with the default theme, there might be a conflict that needs to be addressed either in the theme or in my plugin.
Unfortunately, without direct access to your site and logs, I am unable to provide a more precise diagnosis.
As an alternative, you may consider hiring a developer on platforms like Fiverr to review your error logs, identify any active caching mechanisms causing the issue, and guide you on how to clear them effectively.
Let me know if you need any further assistance.

In reply to: [Page Visits Counter - Lite] Display counter for each page/post individuallyHi,
Yes, it is absolutely possible to display the number of visits for each page or post individually on the front-end of your website.
On the official plugin page, you’ll find two video tutorials that explain how to use the plugin in detail.
The second video specifically demonstrates how to display the number of visits on the front-end for each page, post, or product.
( Link to the official plugin page: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/page-visits-counter-lite )Additionally, the plugin allows you to edit the visit count directly from the admin dashboard, giving you full control over the numbers displayed.
I highly recommend watching both video tutorials to fully understand the plugin’s features and learn how to make the most out of it.
If you have any further questions or run into any issues, feel free to reach out!

In reply to: [Page Visits Counter - Lite] No changes to save… error.Hi,
Thank you for reaching out!
I’ve just tested the functionality, and it seems to be working correctly on my end.A few things you could try:
- Have you attempted to delete the page and recreate it to see if that resolves the issue?
- Does the page title contain any special characters? Sometimes these can cause unexpected behavior.
- It’s also possible that something went wrong during the plugin update. I recommend deactivating and deleting the plugin and then reinstalling it to see if that helps.
Let me know if this resolves the issue!

In reply to: [Page Visits Counter - Lite] Single Post Error – updateHi!
Thank you for reaching out and letting me know about the possible fix.
I’ve found the casue and succeed to replicate the issue. The cause of the issue is the selected language.
In different langugaue a different character is used for the apostrophe.
I am planning to fix it and release the update soon.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Page Visits Counter - Lite] Not Aligning with other elementsThank you for reaching out!
The issue you’re experiencing is likely due to some CSS styling conflicts that can be easily adjusted.
The best part is that instead of using a shortcode, you’re placing raw HTML/CSS code, which means you can fully customize it to suit your needs.
You can either hire a CSS expert on platforms like Fiverr for as little as $5, or you can try fixing it yourself with the help of ChatGPT.Hi!
I am sorry but I don’t understand what your request has to do with my free plugin: Page Visits Counter – Lite?
