Yeah, I was thinking of something a little more simple. A plugin that just checks the user’s status (logged in, not logged in), and just redirects to the login/account creation page or to a page of my choice.

I want people to be able to browse the shop without logging in, but the moment they try to checkout they are sent to a login or account creation page.

Currently, I end up with text sections that say You need to be logged into the checkout.

Which does not look too good.

I am using permalinks, but your fix didn’t work. Instead it turned the error into a 403 error:

Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/options.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
