The problem is still unresolved for me although I have narrowed the cause. It must be an issue with the magento plugin I use to merge my pages and unify the theme.
When I go to magnetricks.com/blog the social icons are not present. They do however appear on magnetricks.com/wp.
I’m still yet to contact the developers of the plugin that appear to be causing the issues. I think the ultimate solution will be no longer using the same theme for my pages, which is a shame.

I have applied the twentytwelve theme however the theme applied to my blog is actually my magento store theme (with help of a magento plugin to merge my wordpress blog with my magento site).

I placed them via widgets in the sidebar and have selected floating (centre-right).
To be honest, I really want to play around to see what suits me best but can’t if I can’t get them to appear at all (lol).

I followed the procedure as instructed in the plugin setup. With regard to question 3, I have reviewed the FAQ and have seen the question which states “Please ensure you actually placed them. The USM+ plugin makes placing icons especially easy (separate question 3).”
As far as I know, I have followed and completed each and every step in the USM+ configuration (including the optional options). As to what ‘separate question 3’ relates to, I’m unsure?
