- Woocommerce
- Acowebs Woocommerce Dynamic Pricing (none of the pricing rules were in effect)
- WooCommerce PayPal Payments (the customer used PayPal, which displays the currency conversion, but in my account, but wasn’t responsible for converting the product price from USD to NT$)
- WooCommerce Shipping
- WooCommerce Shipping & Tax

I disabled that plugin and began using Dynamic Pricing With Discount Rules for WooCommerce instead. It does exactly what I needed.

Thankfully, my client in Canada was willing to test this out for me. Chrome spoofs the location intermittently, as different plugins use different methods for determining the current country/currency conversion to use.

Also, it seems remarkable to me that when implementing rules for quantity based discounts, EVERY vendor seems to use “Fixed Discount” to mean “a fixed discount as a number,” and does not convert that value accordingly when the site is viewed from a different country. A $2USD discount is very different from a $2AUD or $2CAD discount.

Unfortunately, the only way I’ve found to get valid test results is to ask for help from customers in the affected countries (that I know about only because of their feedback). It’s maddening.

Do you have a recommendation for spoofing my IP address (I’m in the US) to successfully fool the browser (and plugins) into thinking that I’m in Canada, Australia, etc.?

Hi Harris,

I stopped using the new Shipping plugin after sending my last message because I needed to ship the product and the old plugin still worked. I reinstalled it tonight, and things *seem* to be working correctly for Domestic shipments (there were multiple USPS shipping options, with correct rates), with the exception of the package weight is always 0 grams. Thankfully, the products I’m shipping are generally under 100 grams, so the USPS rates are almost always the same as if I included the envelope and packing sheet weight, since those are trivial.

However, there doesn’t seem to be any way to enter a weight for custom packaging, so for my products that ship in boxes, I’ll need to manually weigh them every time, even though the box, labels, packing slip, and bubble wrap have a fixed weight (that I used to be able to specify). When I have another international order, I’ll confirm whether or not I’m still having the issue above.

On the plus side, this version has an option for refunding shipping, which would have been very handy for a couple of customers who contacted me after I’d packaged something, and then contacted me to see if they could pay for faster shipping.

5. I don’t recall, but it was more expensive rates, even for domestic, and the First Class mail option didn’t include tracking. It was basically a rate for sending my family a letter—not service to ship something professionally.
