Sorry I didn’t answer that. I’m actually trying to paste HTML in Pages, not posts, and I am publishing them immediately.
It wasn’t? I understand the HTML tab was renamed Text in 3.5 In neither Text nor Visual tab can I paste HTML without it being stripped.
Just checked my wp-content folder — there is no plugins folder at all.

I wish WP developers would follow the old maxim, “If ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” The HTML editor should never have been purged.
