Comment Killer is killing the comments in moderation, but the “Please approve” notifications are still flooding my e-mail inbox.
I would really, really appreciate help from anyone in getting Spaminator to work.

In reply to: Spaminator question.Thanks ssokolow. Somehow my spam just stopped, so I’m guessing Spaminator mysteriously started working. It’s weird, because spam words from the spam I was getting were in my list before it started working, but whatever — I’m not questioning it unless it happens again.

I had to undo the hack because I realized it disabled comments completely for some reason.
I already had a list of spam words. I’ve been getting poker spam too, so I added the word poker to my list. As soon as I undid the hack I got a poker spam comment. Does that mean Spaminator isn’t working, or does the three strikes thing me I’ll have to get three of them?

In reply to: Spaminator question.Well, the hack above seems to have worked, so I’m not panicking anymore.
I’m guessing you’re talking about the spam words list under Options -> Discussion, in the field in the Comment Moderation section.
So if I get spam and notice none of my spam words appear in it, I should amend my spam words list. If I continue to get spam, then I have a problem. Am I correct?
