This is a bit tedious, but since this might be due to a plugin conflict the next step is to disable all the plugins except Postie. Then test to see if Post is working correctly. Then enable one plugin at a time and retest until it stops working again.

If the text isn’t retaining it’s formatting check the Preferred Text Type setting and make sure it is “html”
