I found this in your functions.php which wasn’t there before:

So what is going wrong there?
Oh yes, to clarify: the Enigma theme tells me ‘No image selected’ for the background header image, yet the default Enigma header background is showing and even when I try to set another image as header background, it will not work either. There must be some persistent link to the default Enigma header background picture. Any idea how and where I can find and fix this?

Thank you for the update, the arrow-fix worked!
Unfortunately the header background issue was caused when I updated to version 2.8.4 of your Enigma theme.
In order to show you my problem, I made a 1 minute-video to show you what the problem is and that it is impossible for me to remove the default header of your Enigma theme.

I changed them in the users table. Hope that’s the only place I have to change them.

Thanks for those insights.
I deactivated the cache plugin and noticed a db error from the migration of our old domain. I manually edited the faults in the db and all my problems are solved.

Oh yeah, maybe worth mentioning: when I’m logged in as administrator, the site works perfectly. It’s only when visitors access the site that the problems occur.

This time sorry for my delay.
I don’t remember what I did last month, but I managed to set the homepage to the static homepage again, so the ‘customize’ works and the blog page is showing again.
The only problem I’m having still is the homepage for the English part of the website won’t show when I’m not logged in. When I’m logged in as administrator, the English homepage shows perfectly, yet the normal visitor will get the blog first as homepage (even though in the settings, I clearly specified to show the static page as homepage).Any ideas?
