  • How is someone allowed to leave a one star rating without any explanation at all? This hurts the plugin authors ratings. With very little effort, any competitor can make your rating stats go to crap very quick. It’s very unfortunate that WP allows this. On Joomla’s site, when you rate a component, plugin/module, you’re forced to go through a series of steps before simply being allowed to post a one line crap comment and rating.

    I reinstalled your plugin and inside the plugin moved all files back to original locations, deleted the folders I created and then deactivated and deleted the plugin.

    Thanks anyways. What I really don’t understand is why this customer wants to go back to using the default WordPress month/year organization of files. That’s complete chaos for me. I think they like doing things the hard way. Oh well.

    @alan,

    After following the directions “exactly as you state” in your first post and then deactivated and deleting the plugin, I dumped the cache in my browser and on the server.

    Everything still works, but I did notice that documents/files still retain the folder mapping I created with this plugin.

    I thought after following the directions above all documents/files were supposed to go back to using the default media library mapping/path… “Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders”.

    Following your directions, when I activated the “Media Library Folders Reset” plugin it wanted me to first deactivate the “Media Library Folders” plugin. I ignored this and followed your directions of clicking on “Reset Database”. I then deactivated the reset plugin first and then deactivated and deleted the main MLF plugin.

    Did I do something wrong?

    Thanks for your time. Much appreciated.

    Hi Alan,

    Apologies. I now see your previous answer. I must have been posting at the same time you responded. Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated.

    I was actually wondering the same thing. Is there a process we need to follow before deactivating/deleting this plugin to ensure documents/files map back to the correct locations in the WordPress database?

    I read an FAQ here, but this doesn’t seem to fully relate to the question above:
    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/media-library-plus/#faq
    Entitled: Images Not Found After Changing the Location of Uploads Folder

    Can we please get a clear set of directions on this?

    I had a customer change their mind on using this plugin and they want to go back to the WP defaults. Unfortunately, I created a fairly in-depth folder structure that has over 15 folders/sub-folders containing over 100 documents/images/files. Now I’m afraid to touch anything. 🙂
