In reply to: [LiteSpeed Cache] WebP images created in wrong directoriesThank you for your efforts and follow-up. I was able to produce the report this morning: KNGKDRBT.
The issue arose recently and occurred again this weekend: I added 22 JPEG images in two batches of 15 and 7 images to the media library.
My observations following these actions:
- All JPEG images were converted to PNG and then resized to PNG based on the image sizes used on the site.
- One WEBP image (per JPEG image) was created in the \2026\05 folder at the root of the site.
- 13 WEBP images (per JPEG image) were created in the \wp-admin\2026\05 folder.
- Images placed in these “incorrect” locations do not appear to be used for display on the site.
- The other WEBP images were created in the \wp-content\uploads\2026\05 folder at a rate of one WEBP image per image and size used on the site.
I haven’t found a reason why some images were processed “normally” and others weren’t. All 22 images were generated by the same tool, were of the same type, roughly the same size, and imported at the same time.
I checked all the site and plugin settings this weekend, but I can’t see what might be causing this behavior.
It doesn’t seem like this behavior is triggering any other issues on the site, so I suggest putting this ticket on hold. I’ll get back to you if I manage to narrow down my analysis of the problem.
Best regards.
Hello Jose,
I’ve identified the plugin causing the reported issue: it’s “Open Links In New Tab,” which automatically adds “_blank” to external links.
This plugin was accidentally reactivated during our maintenance operation last Monday.
The issue has now been resolved. Thank you for your help.
Best regards.
Thank you for your prompt and detailed response.
So it seems the issue isn’t caused by your plugin. I’ll look into what might be adding the “onclick” event.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards.

hi,
Strange… : site WAS in maintenance last monday. You should show the site in normal condition now.

I’ve checked from two computers, a 5G smartphone and google pagespeed tool…

Hi Jose,
Thank you for your response. I was unable to reproduce the issue on my pre-production site.
On the production site, I cleared all possible caches (server, Litespeed cache, and browser). I also uninstall and reinstall this plugin and delete the “WP External Links” plugin.
To see an example of the behavior:
- Open the page Ravenne – Mosaïque de splendeurs – ITALISSIMO
- Scroll to the end of the article, which contains links under the heading “Sites internet sur Ravenne”
- When you click on a link, a new window opens with the external site.
- When returning to the first window > the popup is displayed correctly and processes the responses properly.
I think your plugin’s script is executed after the external page is loaded… but I don’t know why.
Best regards.

In reply to: [LiteSpeed Cache] WebP images created in wrong directoriesHi litetim
The issue affected about 10 images over two last days. Original JPEG images had been published on the site for several months (and years) ago. It should be noted that these images, once converted to WEBP, are not subsequently used to display in articles.
Images added yesterday are not affected by this issue.
I use :
- LPC : for WEBP image generation.
- Media Librairy Helper : for edit images tags , caption and description.
- Media file renamer : for SEO file name complianz.
- Filebird PRO : for organizing images (but it doesn’t change the location of the files on the server).
It’s worth noting that I’ve been using these plugins on several websites for several years without any notable issues…

Here are the results. I replaced the physical path with “realpath.” Everything looks normal to me. Note that the problem hasn’t occurred again in the last two days…

In reply to: [Advanced Ads – Ad Manager & AdSense] Open ads link in a new windowHello @ahmeddr
Thank you for your quick response.
1/ The setting under *Advanced Ads > Settings > General > Layout / Output > “Open links in a new window” was already checked, but it isn’t working.
2/ Thank you for the link, but I can’t follow the steps outlined there. My ad units were created in Google AdSense, not Google Ad Manager… I am unable to link the two accounts or figure out how to migrate from one to the other. This is currently being addressed with Google Support.
In any case, the issue does not appear to stem from Ad Manager.
Best regards.
