    ok thanks. I’m with Heart
Yes, I have cPanel with them. I’ll take a look there

I’ve never heard of Heart Hosting. If you need instructions how to access the final manager let me know and I will send them.

perfect. Thank you. I will be in touch later when I get back from my meeting. In the mean time please let me know if you are able to figure it out.

    ok, thanks.
i’ve taken a look through the most recently updated ones and can’t figure it out from that – ie, a new plugin that might have caused this.
So unlikely that i’ll figure it out before you’re back as I’m kinda out of ideas now for my technical knowledge! but will of course let you know if i do.

    thanks for your help

Okay so after looking at the plugins I think the problem is a related to caching being misconfigured. Did you recently implement caching or move hosts? Either way I’m almost certain manually disabling the cloudflare and w3 total cache plugins by renaming their directories to cloudflare.disabled and w3-total-cache.disabled will get you back into your wp-admin

If this works please leave them disabled and let me know I’ll provide further instruction how to correctly configure caching.

    Thanks for that.
No, I didn’t recently implement these, nor move hosts. So no idea why this would have happened.
But I’ll try what you suggest and let you know.
If this works, can I reenable them after or should I just remove these plugins and stop using them?

Either way leave them disabled temporarily until we get you back in.

We will reactivate them once you’re back in your wp-admin.

Sorry, yes – I saw after that you referred to that at the end of your message. Sorry!
I have tried renaming both of those as you suggest but I’m afraid still no luck.
I have cleared the cache and browser history on my browser and tried – but still get the same

Great! Thanks for trying that. I am going into my meeting now. I will get back to you in a few hours with some other ideas how to fix this issue. Thank you for your patience.

That’s fine – I have to head off for a bit now anyway.
Thanks so much for your help

So earlier, I had not tried to load your login page. It appears you have a reCaptcha step on the login page. Did you add this with a plugin or is it done through your theme? If it was a plugin do you remember what the name of the plugin was? I would like to have you try to disable that plugin manually and see if removing that fixes it but from looking at the screenshot you provided of the plugins directory I can not identify which plugin is adding that reCaptcha screen.

    (@andywalden0)

I haven’t knowingly added a reCaptcha step on the login page. There shouldn’t be any login page to my own website anyway – ie, users don’t login to my site at all.
As far as I’m concerned I should just login to wordpress to be able to edit my site.
So I have no idea which plugin might have caused something like this. As I say, I wouldn’t have thought any plugin I had on my site should make any change to how I login to make changes to my site. I guess it has, but don’t know how/what.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
