You might want to try resetting the plugins folder – similar issue here:
Where you been girl?
LOL – you’re doing great :)! File permissions are tough buggers sometimes.
Man, I need some serious help here, I’m not good with this stuff…:-)
Is there anyway I can give access to someone without risking more damage? I’m just not sure what to do here and I now have a client with a website that doesn’t work…
Mike, Mike, Mike, man you are doing fine did you find an error log? If not follow yogi’s link
You’re doing fine too :)! Just rename the plugins folder to
plugins.HOLD. Leave it that way for a few minutes and then change it back. See if that fixes the problem(s).BTW, where is this site hosted?
Hostgator
Okay, so I helped someone else yesterday/today with a very similar problem – also on HG – so I’d suggest asking them to help you with this – sounds like they may have some server issues going on.
Ok, I just changed the plugins folder name to plugins.HOLD, how long do I wait to change it back?
Mike
Not long – a couple of minutes will do it (if it’s going to work).
Ok, when I change it back do I go to the website dashboard/plugins and see if they are back?
Yep.
Ok, just did that and they are still gone…
All are listed in the file manager on Hostgator though? They disappeared when I changed each plugin folder to 0755??
