In reply to: [Open User Map] Submit is hangingHi @joeguiney,
I can recreate the issue on your site. This is because of an internal server error. Can you please have a look at the Debug Log. You’ll find it under Settings > Open User Map > Help & Getting Started. Could you please send the debug info to my email?

In reply to: [Open User Map] Map not visibleHey @goreholio,
I think I’ve found the issue. Your Theme (Divi) or some plugin minifies HTML, Javascript and CSS.
This negatively affects some inline JS that is necessary to load the map. IMO the minification engine here does a bad job – but nevertheless please try to disable minifaction and see if it works. (I’m not sure if its because of JS or HTML minification though. You’ll have to try.)
Does this help?
Best Regards

In reply to: [Open User Map] Map not visibleHi @goreholio,
This sounds like a Javascript error to me. Could you share a link to your page?
If not it would be helpful to have a look if there are any JS errors in the console:
In Chrome press CMD+Option+J (Mac) or Strg+Shift+J (Windows) to open the Web Developer Console. Do you see any red errors there?Best Regards,

In reply to: [Open User Map] HTML fieldHi @5lions,
The HTML Custom Field is actually not an input field for the users. It’s meant to be used as a structural element. For example you could use it to display a Headline or some Paragraph in between the other fields. It only handles simple HTML.

In reply to: [Open User Map] Add reviewsHi @francesco6,
Actually this is planed already. There are two upcoming feature that will make this possible.
- Implementation of WordPress Hooks that will enable Developers two integrate 3rd party code (like a rating widget).
- Like Button and Flag Button for Locations
I will keep you in the loop on this.

In reply to: [Open User Map] Description Field Max LengthHi @justinbryeans,
Yes, this should work with the Text and Link Custom Fields. I’ve just tested both and it worked (Free & PRO). Be aware that the new Custom Field only shows up in the bubble if the user had typed in something. It will not render on older locations. Does this help you?
I like the idea to display a little counter of remaining characters. This will probably come with an upcoming update. This will include the Description Field.

In reply to: [Open User Map] Map styles: gray areas hide part of the mapHey Pierre,
I will probably add the max zoom setting though. It would be optional and could be useful also in other use cases.
I’ve tested your choosen map style (screenshot) with the region Saint-Denis and did not experience the issue there. Can you please try yourself on https://www.open-user-map.com/demo/ ? If it works there it was either a temporary problem or maybe some issue with lazy loading on your page. Do you use Jetpack or some other plugin that enables lazy loading for images on your website?
Thanks for the hint with the placement of the Plugin Settings. I will consider that for a next release.

In reply to: [Open User Map] Feature Request – Fly to locationHi @ambiolix,
I had to bring forward some minor TODOs first, but I am already working on the implementation of this feature in parallel. It will be part of the next major release.

In reply to: [Open User Map] Map styles: gray areas hide part of the mapHey @mengeco,
Thanks for opening a new thread on this. I could reproduce the issue. This happens due to different “quality” (detail level) with the different map tile providers. So with Map Style #1 there are some missing tiles on zoom level 13 – 15. I can’t do much about it and would recommend to choose a different map style.
What do you think about this idea:
I could implement another new setting to define the maximum zoom level (minimum zoom level is already possible). So in your case setting this to 12 would prevent from zooming to close. And with some next release I will probably add more map styles to choose from.
Best Regards,
Daniel
