Thanks Eric. Can’t believe I didn’t see that before. I’ll try it out and see if I get another Google error.
I too found the missing mainEntity in Google Search Console. It related to my “About Me” page, which I must have assumed at some point meant I should select Profile page in yoast schema.
I’ve now changed the page type back to default, but would like to know how we’re actually meant to deal with our “About” pages.
Adding additional code is probably a step too far for me.

But it’s happened three times now and I keep losing my stats, which are no longer reliable. And it’s not just the stats. Jetpack disconnects everything I opt into, then I have to go and reconnect again – when I notice!

I updated Jetpack to 12.8 on Saturday.

But the 27th was lower than I expected, so I’m not sure if it started then – that UK, GMT. 29th and 30th were also very much affected and the 31st is low, but the day they started to work again.

Oh boo! Twenty four hours after I ran the optimisation and everything seemed OK, the message is back.

I’ve just run the SEO data optimisation and it seems to have worked.The error message has now disappeared.
I thought it was going to take ages to run as my site is quite old, but it only took about ten minutes.

I haven’t had a chance to perform the SEO data optimisation yet as I’ve not been around. But will give it a go tomorrow.

I’m just concerned that I will miss comments from readers who won’t come back and try again or even tell me there is a problem.

In reply to: [Antispam Bee] Inability to CommentI’ve just updated the plugin again, but as I suspected, the same error message is coming up when I try to comment. Nothing has changed, so I’m not sure why that would have changed either.
I checked to make sure the “Check complete site markup for comment forms” was active and it is.

I haven’t tried again, because there doesn’t seem to be an obvious answer. And it’s not easy to test as I need to know someone has tried and failed to comment. But I might try again today and see if that box is checked. It’s just a big hassle and extra load on my network resources as I’ll have to backup first etc. I’ll let you know.

I can’t take a copy of my website, but I’m willing to give the update another go. So if I update to 2.10.0 – again, I then need to “check complete site markup for comment forms” in settings? Is that correct?

Sorry for not getting back to you before now. As I’m on version 2.9.4 everything’s working fine so I forgot about it. But I obviously can’t stay on an outdated plugin for ever.
Florian – This doesn’t appear as an option. Is this something you introduced in the 2.10.0 update?
Torsten, I’m loathe to go back 2.10.0 unless I know it’s going to work. If it was a caching problem, why does that not affect 2.9.4? And if I update should I try Florian’s suggestion first or yours?
