In reply to: [Yoast SEO - Advanced SEO with real-time guidance and built-in AI] My sitemap@sa5awii92 You’re welcome. Please let us know if you require any further assistance in this matter.
@rilwis Thanks for your reply.
We attempted to replicate the issue you reported with the Slim SEO plugin and Yoast SEO, but were unable to. Upon installing and activating the Slim SEO plugin and going to Settings>Slim SEO with Yoast SEO also active, no apparent issue was detected (see image here).
As we aren’t able to replicate the issue you described, it’s likely being caused by something specific to your environment. This is why it would be necessary for you to submit the bug report in this case, as the environment information is part of the necessary information in order to replicate the issue.
@hanikasingh2206 We checked on the link you provided and we were able to see that the robots meta tag is set to ‘index’ (see image here).
However, we did find that there were two separate robots meta tags in your code (see image here).
One of the two robots meta tags is being output by the Yoast SEO plugin, and the other set is being output by either another plugins or possibly your theme. This causes a conflict when there are duplicate sets of meta tags, which can cause the tags settings to be read incorrectly or ignored for the page.
In order to resolve this we would recommend reviewing your other plugins/theme’s settings and disabling their robots meta tag output so as to remove the conflicting additional tag. If you are unsure which plugin is causing the additional robots meta tag to be output we would recommend performing a conflict check and disabling other plugins and then reviewing your page’s source code to check whether it has been removed.
We also have additional information on how to check for a conflict here: How to check for plugin conflicts.
@roaolam2222 Thanks for your reply.
Regarding removing and reinstalling the plugin, this won’t cause you to lose any of the data or settings you created with the plugin as those are stored separately of the plugin files in your site’s database.
As for the error itself, this issue typically occurs when the plugin installation or update couldn’t complete correctly. The fatal error is telling you that the plugin couldn’t find one of the core plugin files. Can you please try removing the plugin directly from your site and then reinstall it?
Please refer to this guide to remove and reinstall the plugin files: https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/#remove
@gooffy294 I tried using the WhatsApp debug application and the preview image wouldn’t load for me as well.
Whereas I wasn’t able to find any consistent agreement or official documentation on what the recommended image size was for the WhatsApp preview image, some sources claimed this to be of smaller pixel dimensions, such as 400x400px. Have you tried setting the image to another, smaller preview image and then checking whether it loads as expected?@flamuren Thanks for your reply.
If now under Yoast SEO>Tools for ‘Optimize SEO Data’ it shows as ‘SEO data optimization complete’ then yes, it was completed successfully.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO - Advanced SEO with real-time guidance and built-in AI] My sitemap@sa5awii92 Thanks for your reply and confirming that the robots.txt is now updated with the correct URL.
Google Search Console will sometimes show the number of discovered URLs that it finds in the specific sitemap that was submitted, but not show the number it discovers on the child sitemaps that the
sitemap_index.xmllists, and Google subsequently crawls.According to Google, the sitemap being reported with 0 URLs discovered doesn’t necessarily indicate a problem. You can read more about this here. Most probably, Google needs some time to process the sitemap. And do keep in mind that Google Search Console reports are not real-time.
So we would like to suggest allowing some time for Google to process the sitemap. For a speedier resolution, you could delete the sitemap in Google Search Console and resubmit it again. Sometimes, it helps to fix the 0 discovered URLs notice faster.
@supergs Regarding your question of:
why is yoast sitemap xml file showing only 1 discovered url in search console?
We did answer this previously, but I’ll reiterate this:

@nvest For images, these should be included in the sitemap for the page or post that the image is on. However, some plugins, themes, and page builder modules may not show additional images in the sitemap. If your site’s pages have images that are not being included in the sitemap, you may need to add them to the sitemap via a developer filter:
wpseo_sitemap_urlimages.This filter is able to register images in order to make them appear it the sitemap. If you are not sure how to use the filter you may wish to speak with your theme or plugin developer.
We have additional information on using this filter to include images in the sitemap located at the following link: Images in the XML Sitemap.
If you add the image using the filter does it resolve the issue?

@dallasingame We are going ahead and closing this as it is a duplicate of this, to avoid confusion.
@dallasingame We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on your site.
This post appears to be a duplicate of the issue you also posted here, so we are going to go ahead and close that one in favor of this post, to avoid any confusion or duplicate replies.
Regarding your issue, can you please confirm you are using the most recent version of Yoast SEO, version 19.11? You can learn more about updating here: https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/
Also, can you confirm you are using WordPress 6.1.1? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/
If you update to the most current version of WordPress and Yoast SEO, does this resolve the issue?
If you have already confirmed that both Yoast SEO and WordPress are up to date and the issue is still occurring, we would next recommend performing a conflict check to determine whether another plugin or theme is interfering with the Yoast plugin.
The fastest way to do this is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like TwentyTwentyOne.
Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check without affecting normal visitors to your site.
If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts.
@cyber69 @fhqmd Thanks for posting your solution.
