In reply to: [WP STAGING - WordPress Backup, Restore & Migration] held my data hostageThe resolution to the problem of software incompatibility was to deactivate and remove the WP Staging software and to request a refund.

In reply to: [WP STAGING - WordPress Backup, Restore & Migration] held my data hostageIf, thus far.
This software restricts content it’s not supposed to restrict and doesn’t restrict contnt it is supposed to restrict.
It’s still redirecting to a link in an old recipe and will not update.
I have no active caching or CDN on my website, nor have I for the last week while I waited for their support team to get back to me.
Nobody ever got back to me.
I deleted this software and regret wasting my time with Code Atlantic, a mistake I’ll never make again. People say the software works. Perhaps it’s incompatible with my Themeco theme. Who knows? Nobody will help me so the ultimate cause of this software failing is irrelevant at this point.
I’ll warn you against relying on Code Atlantic’s software as well. Imagine if this refusal to help would have occurred after a year invested in their software rather than at a point where I could easily abandon both my plans for tiered membership and Code Atlantics software without repercussion.
Imagine how “over the barrel” you’d be if you actually had to rely on this company’s customer service? I shudder at the thought.
Imagine how different this review would have gone had they been willing to give me more than 5 minutes of their collective time at any point in the last months time.

Tell me you don’t understand my point without telling me you don’t understand my point.
Good luck with the cartoons.
Yet you still have a 1 star review, no matter how much you argue.
Weird.
Sure, but the Branda software plugin is bloated as all get out. If I only want SMTP (and I want it to integrate with your forms) I don’t want another big download with the constant calls to action.
I mean, I know I’m just a nobody, but I opted for an alternative to Branda because of this issue. Thus, I’m guessing other people have too.
Methinks, and I’m aware nobody asked or really cares for that matter, but smaller plugins with smaller fees might help you scoop up some of the smaller customers who only need specific functionality. All the developers are trying to build all-inclusive products, and plugins have huge over-laps of superfluous functionality.
That’s development costs gone to waste. Support structure that’s more expensive to maintain (or suffers in quality which is more common). And potential customers who ‘settle’ for limited functionality rather than making small investments here or there, simply because the jump from zero to hundreds of dollars is too steep for products that people experience as being poorly supported.
But like I said, nobody really cares what I have to say. You do you, boo boo.

In reply to: [WP User Manager - User Profile Builder & Membership] Success! My mistake. I changed the codes, added them to the HTML side of the text element in Cornerstone (which is awful, fwiw) and the codes worked immediately with no problems.
PBKAC the whole time. Go figure.
The question is are short codes the only way this plugin can restrict content? Any idea if it will work across elements, or if I have to install the code around each element (i.e. image/text)?
Well, the longest race in history to provide a workable content control plugin is still underway.
My last issue is that CC is that it redirected all non-logged in users. It did this for days straight, which does not sound like merely a caching issue. It did this regardless of the type of content restriction I set up, it would always redirect.
User roles never came into play for me, I never got that far.
Should I just put a week’s time between every change?
I have made a habit of clearing my cache regularly when I encounter problems. Should I look for similar function over at cloudflare where I have CDN running?
(I change review grades all the time when developers ‘get around’ to helping me.)

In reply to: [WP User Manager - User Profile Builder & Membership] Success!FWIW I have Cornerstone, which means I can’t use Gutenburg, so I didn’t see any of those prompts.
I tried it out again.
https://dynastygeeks.com/wp-content/uploads/wp-user_1.png
https://dynastygeeks.com/wp-content/uploads/wp-user_2.pngAt the very least, the content that it does share is formatted into a different style and color of font. I didn’t play with the codes much, but multiple codes in one text element seemed to cause problems.
Doesn’t look like this is going to work. Unless you have a solution I’m not seeing?
No.
Bait. And. Switch.
Explain everything up front. Time is money Genetech, and you wasted mine. Thus you get none of mine…money that is, I’d be happy to tell my experience to the WP community whenever prompted.
Don’t aske me to settle for less. Do better.

In reply to: [WP User Manager - User Profile Builder & Membership] Success! You should put some documentation about that somewhere in your software. I might not have deleted it.
If I cannot find another suitable plugin I may give yours another try. It seems rather bloated for my rather simplistic needs.
I appreciate the response.
This is NOT the kind of exchange I’m looking to see before I decide to spend money on software.
Are there any software developers for WP that aren’t just looking for a fast buck?
I’d just like to say, that you couldn’t have possibly tried to fix my problem.
You never even tried.
Two weeks and 5 days later and I’ve got no more than a “I don’t understand your problem, thanks.”
I’m deactivating this software. It does not work.

In reply to: [Restrict User Access - Ultimate Membership & Content Protection] PBKAC?I have deleted your plugin and moved on. I’m receiving quality one-on-one support from another content restriction plugin’s developer team.
FWIW, your clap-backs to other reviewers really turned me off. I don’t like bullies.
Best of luck.
