We’ve created a function for you that needs to be pasted into your theme’s functions.php file:

function custom_eventin_permalink($post_link, $post, $leavename, $sample) {
    if ($post->post_type == 'etn') {
        // Get the external link from the event meta
        $external_link = get_post_meta($post->ID, 'external_link', true);
        
        // If external link exists and is not empty, use it
        if (!empty($external_link)) {
            $post_link = $external_link;
        } else {
            // Fallback to default permalink structure if no external link is set
            $post_link = home_url('/etn/' . $post->post_name);
        }
    }
    return $post_link;
}
add_filter('post_type_link', 'custom_eventin_permalink', 20, 4); 

After adding this, whenever you attach any link in the event external link field ( Check ScreenShot: https://prnt.sc/XbihZPtHPSgc ), your calendar will redirect to that link.

So, in the event external link field, you can place your affiliate link. This way, when someone clicks the event from your calendar, they will be redirected to your affiliate link.

Thanks a lot for clarifying, I already understand you in previous reply.

At the moment, Eventin doesn’t have a built-in option to directly link calendar events to an external provider’s page. That’s why we previously mentioned the embedding system as a possible workaround.

For now, you can display external events on your pages using a page builder and add their links manually. However, linking them directly inside the calendar integration itself is not yet possible.

If you’d like to achieve something similar with a grid-style layout, we can share some tips and guidance on how to customize that on your own. Meanwhile, we’ve noted this as a feature request for our development team, since it’s a very useful idea.

First of all, thank you so much for your kind words and for using our plugin, we really appreciate it!

Regarding your questions:

1. Adding external events
At the moment, the option available is to show a calendar from a remote site on your own website using our embedded script feature. Here’s an example: screenshot.
How it works: let’s say Site A is yours where many events are created. You can generate the calendar on your site and then create a script. Using that script, you can showcase the same calendar on any other remote site. Currently, this is possible only in this way from our end.

2. Customizing the calendar view
Right now, we don’t have predefined layout styles (like grid view) for the calendar. However, you can customize colors and text styles with CSS. If you’d like assistance with styling, our team will be happy to help you adjust it as per your needs.
