Please do not post on topics which are unrelated to the issue which you’re experiencing. I have already answered to this message on a different topic, but if the issue persists please submit a new topic.
Hi @nicoleamanda,
Unfortunately, we could not find what might be causing it, everything else seem to be in order except the og:image.
Please perform a conflict check in order to find out if the issue persists even when all of your plugins (except Yoast SEO) and theme. This will help us understand if the issue is on Yoast SEO’s side, or caused by a conflict.
Please inform us of the results.
Hi @eriikr,
Please go to SEO → Search Appearance → Content Types and copy here the template which you are using for the pages.
Additionally, please also copy the meta description (or attach a screenshot) which you’ve set for the homepage.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
The URL which you have sent us seems to be indexable, we couldn’t find any reasons why Google wouldn’t be able to crawl it.
We’d recommend fetching your URL as Googlebot to find if it is indeed able to crawl it or if there are any issues.
If there are no errors crawling it, then you should request indexing from Google Search Console and wait for the changes to be shown in the search engine results pages.
Hey,
Google has confirmed that the length of the meta description has changed again, although it should be slightly longer than what it used to be before.
Unfortunately, we do not have any accurate data yet on what would be the recommended length now, it seems that the length of snippets can vary now, but we will update Yoast SEO as soon as we have more information.
You can also follow the progress of this report here.
Hi Juan,
Please send us a screenshot from SEO → Search Appearance where it shows that you’ve noindexed pages for your website and a URL to one of your pages so that we can check for any meta robots tags too.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO - Advanced SEO with real-time guidance and built-in AI] GDPRHi Mirko,
We do not track or store any information regarding your website’s visitors, we only store some of the server information (such as what WordPress, PHP version the website is using). This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/gdpr/.
@ravel6780 that is correct, when you enable that feature Yoast SEO will redirect the media attachment pages will redirect to the media files.
In this manner, the media attachment pages will no longer indexed, only the media files will remain. This is a good thing from an SEO point of view, there’s no need to remove the media files from Google’s search results (unless you actually have a reason to do the opposite, such as having private files).
@newshop Yoast SEO does not have any features that would redirect media files to your WordPress dashboard. If you deactivate Yoast SEO, does this issue persist?
Hi @aceone999,
Are you sure you’re currently using the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs? It’s supposed to show the current page title in the breadcrumbs by default.
I’ve just tested it locally (https://i.imgur.com/bfpnJmS.png) and it works as expected, the page title is shown in the breadcrumbs.
Hey @forest-skills,
Are you using Yoast SEO Premium? If so, please contact using premium personal support, the forums are for Yoast SEO (free version) only.
Yoast SEO does not create any redirects at all, it lacks the redirects module.
Hey @insomnia88,
We apologize for the confusion, the feature to redirect media attachment pages to the actual media files has been moved to SEO → Search Appearance → Media (as in this guide). You do not have to use the Search Console to use this feature.
Hi @passionspoon,
Please note that Facebook is caching URLs which have been previously shared, meaning they will not check your URLs for changes until their cache expires, even though you may have made the correct changes in Yoast SEO.
In your case, this means that even though Yoast SEO is now outputting the correct og:image, Facebook is not checking for this as it uses a cached version of your page (where the og:image was missing).
In order to force Facebook to clear the cache of a URL, please submit it to their Sharing Debugger and click the Scrape Again button several times. After you have done this, you can try sharing your URL on Facebook again and it should show the updated Open Graph tags.
We went ahead and re-scraped it for you, Facebook should now show the correct image.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
It is not possible to noindex your media files using Yoast SEO.
You could, however, noindex all the media files using the X-Robots-Tag. You can find more details and some snippets for similar examples here.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO - Advanced SEO with real-time guidance and built-in AI] SitemapAs @wb198 has mentioned, you can enable/disable the XML Sitemaps by going to SEO → General → Features in your WordPress dashboard.
To get the URL of the sitemap, you can click on the question mark icon: https://i.imgur.com/JuZppX1.png
There is no way to determine exactly how long it takes for Google to update its index of a given URL, this depends on many factors (one of which is the popularity of your website/URL).
As a general guideline, we’d recommend waiting for up to 2 weeks before making any changes to your meta description.
Additionally, you may want to try to fetch that URL as Googlebot and request indexing too, that may speed things up.
