Hi Chris,
You should not increase the keyword density just to get a green bullet. If adding the keyword more often wouldn’t sound natural (which is possible, considering you’re using a longtail keyword), then you can safely ignore that warning.
The end goal is to provide the best user experience as possible, not to optimize for the search engines. We too have been tempted to chase the green bullet. In such cases, it’s best to ignore the warning.
We would recommend increasing the maximum memory limit to 128M. You can do so by following this guide.
Yoast SEO might work with less memory too, but that will depend on how many and what other plugins you are using.
Are any JavaScript errors appearing? If so, can you describe the errors or take a screenshot?
If errors in red appear, perform a conflict check. This guide explains more about how to perform one.
Are you able to use the snippet editor now?
That error may happen because your server might halt the operation due to the maximum execution time limit.
You can follow this guide to increase the maximum execution time.
Additionally, if you have many products, you might want to lower the Max entries per sitemap by going to SEO → XML Sitemaps: https://i.imgur.com/mfEa5Ru.png
If the issue persists, we recommend performing a conflict check, to find out if the issue is caused by a different plugin or your theme.
Does this fix your issue?
When checking your post sitemap, we did not get redirected to the homepage, but got a 500 error instead: https://i.imgur.com/seY0pVj.png
In this case, we’d recommend performing a conflict check first.
If the issue persists after the conflict check, we recommend contacting your hosting provider and ask them for the server error logs, that should give us more information on what might be causing the issue.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
You mentioned you found a JavaScript error, please send us a copy or a screenshot of it here so that we can investigate if that’s related to the issue.
We recommend checking your site using a different browser, it’s possible that your browser extensions are altering the search results.
Your homepage’s meta description matches the one shown by Google: https://i.imgur.com/zdhuiDr.png
Your screenshot shows that you have noindexed media attachment pages. It seems like some of them have already been removed from Google’s index, which is working as expected. It may take some time until Google deindexes all the attachment pages.
However, for the URLs which you have sent us, while the meta descriptions shown by Yoast SEO are correctly generated, we too noticed that Google is showing different descriptions. In this manner, we recommend fetching one of these URLs as Googlebot, to make sure that Google is seeing the same content as we do.
Hi Jan,
Thanks for sharing the HTML snippet with us. It seems that you are adding correctly an alt tag to your image, as suggested by Yoast SEO. Does your alt-attribute include the focus keyword?
Additionally, are you getting this message as an improvement in the analysis tab, or as Good? If so, please attach a screenshot (you can remove the private data from it).
We’re looking forward to your reply.
Did you also try switching to a different theme, such as Twenty Seventeen? Sometimes, the blank space is in the functions.php file of the theme.
We’ve inspected your website and the titles and meta descriptions appear to be working as expected.
If you are referring to the last result in our screenshot, that is because you are indexing your media attachment pages, which do not have a meta description set. In that case, we would recommend either noindexing media attachment pages or redirecting them to the parent page.
Hi Chris,
Are you sure you are using Yoast SEO breadcrumbs and not the ones from WooCommerce? We ask as in our tests, the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs are showing the primary category, as expected.
Here’s the setup: https://i.imgur.com/X7b1UsX.png
And here you can see the 2 breadcrumbs, the top one being from Yoast SEO: https://i.imgur.com/o4tlAY3.png
As you may notice, the breadcrumbs generated by Yoast SEO are showing the Primary Category. This feature is part of Yoast SEO, you do not need Yoast WooCommerce SEO for it.
Hi Sevil,
Unfortunately, it is not possible to remove the current post title from the breadcrumbs. You could customize it using filters, but that would require custom development, which is not something that we can provide you with.
If you created a custom post type, it should appear in SEO → Titles & Metas → Post Types, not in Archives.
If we did not understand this correctly, please give us more details on what you’ve done and what you’re trying to achieve, so that we can provide you with a solution.
You can customize the title using variables by going to SEO → Titles & Metas → Archives and scroll down to Special Pages.
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to customize other meta tags, like meta description or Open Graph tags.
Upon activating Yoast SEO, it will automatically generate an XML sitemap which can be found at yourwebsite.com/sitemap_index.xml
You do not have to import your old sitemap, but we do recommend submitting the sitemap built by Yoast SEO to the search engines.
