  • Hey Paul,

I totally get where you are coming from and what you are saying. I went ahead and submitted all the information needed for the developers to have a closer look.

Here in forum support, I’m here to help as much as possible, but wouldn’t have access to user MailChimp accounts.  That being said, I wouldn’t be able to speak on behalf of MailChimp in regards to the question surrounding potential customers.  I’m always happy to pass your feedback over to the team.

    Thank you,
    Opal

    Hey @horsetags,

Appreciate you getting back to us with those logs! We’ve went ahead and sent all the information over to developers to further investigate. Unfortunately we don’t have an estimated turn around time as to when this issue will be resolved but we have made developers aware of what some users are currently experiencing. Please keep an eye out for plugin updates since most often bug fixes are pushed in the form of plugin updates.

    Thanks,
    Opal

    Hey @horsetags,

It looks like we’ve narrowed down all of the troubleshooting steps here. This issue might be something we’ll want to pass along to our team and have developers investigate.

Can you set the “logs” tool to “debug” in the settings of the MailChimp for WooCommerce plugin, then let it attempt to sync for a few hours? Are you seeing anything there in the logs after doing that?

    Thanks,
    Opal

    Hey @arthur0h

Thanks for sharing these issues with us. I did some testing and was unable to replicate these specific behaviors, though I would like to dig a bit deeper so we can have these on our radar.

Would you mind providing your site’s WooCommerce System Status Report? This will allow us to do some further testing.

Thanks in advance. I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.

    Hey @northfog

Thanks for checking there anyways. I’ve gone ahead and passed this feedback along to our developers as we continue monitoring cases of the plugin failing after entering the API key. I can’t provide a firm ETA on when to expect a resolution, though our team is working to get things resolved as soon as possible.

    Thanks,
    Malachite

    Hey @lukeatwill1992

I’m afraid the plugin only syncs to the merge fields Email Address, First Name, Last Name presently. That being said, I will definitely pass this feedback along to our team, as customized field mapping is a piece of feedback we’ve heard often from users.

Additionally, I did a quick search on MailChimp’s Knowledge Base, and found an article that may be helpful in the meantime. Since the plugin does sync e-commerce purchase data, it can be used in segmenting. It’s just not explicitly available in merge fields. You can read more about that here:

    https://kb.mailchimp.com/lists/segments/segment-a-list-by-purchase-activity

If you have any questions, please let us know!

    Hey @horsetags,

The reCAPTCHA process cannot be modified so it will include the images. That being said, the best option would be the double opt-in without reCAPTCHA via the MailChimp embedded signup form.

    Thank you,
    Opal

    Hey @horsetags,

Thanks for following up! The testing site is for sure the best route to go. We’ll be here if you come across anything else we can help answer. πŸ™‚

    Hey @northfog

Thanks for following up here. I can see that the site meets the minimum requirements to run WooCommerce and MailChimp for WooCommerce properly.

We have seen some instances of the API Key page timing out or even erroring out for some users during the setup process of the plugin.

Just to get some deeper insight when passing this along to our team, would you be able to check your site’s error logging to see if anything comes through when you encounter this error in MailChimp for WooCommerce? If your site does not have error logging, you can download a plugin that enables it such as this one, though there are many different ones on the plugin directory worth browsing.

Thanks in advance for this extra bit of information. I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.

    Hey @esucces

Thanks for your patience over the weekend. I apologize for the typo in my last post here. I am not able to replicate this behavior on my side, I meant to say:

“I took some time to test this in our own testing environment and was unfortunately unable to replicate the behavior when making a test purchase.”

I’m afraid that we do not have private messaging here on the plugin support forums. If you’re not able to reach MailChimp’s Support Team and we are not able gather further details on the specific user workflow or system status report, then unfortunately we will be limited in our support moving forward.

If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to let us know.

    Hey @linkslegend,

Thanks for following up here. I was not able to reproduce this issue when using the same workflow and plugins, though with that being said, I am going to pass this along to our developers for further investigation.

I can’t speak to a firm ETA on when to expect a resolution here, though definitely feel free to let us know if you have questions in the meantime.

Thanks again for diligently reporting this for us,
    Malachite

    Hellow there @horsetags,

Thanks for reaching out to us. The reCAPTCHA will be included in MailChimp’s double opt-in process.

If you are wanting to use the double opt-in process but avoid reCAPTCHA, the best recommendation we can make is using one of MailChimp’s embedded signup forms on the site. For some further information about that, I’m including MailChimp’s knowledge base article below.

Add a Signup Form to Your Website: http://eepurl.com/b2Q-zf

    Thank you,
    Opal

    Hey @esucces

Sorry to hear that. We may be a bit limited in what we can do here on the forums.

I took some time to test this in our own testing environment and was unfortunately able to replicate the behavior when making a test purchase. That being said, I can gather a bit more information to make sure we’re covering everything we can:

    – What is the specific step-by-step workflow these affected contacts are taking from joining the list to having a “0” status in WooCommerce?
    – Can you share your site’s WooCommerce System Status Report?

Thanks in advance. I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.

    Hey there @horsetags,

Thanks so much for reaching out here. You mentioned php 7 and mysql 5.6 and those for sure met the system requirements.

Just to confirm here, you also mentioned that you have the latest version of WooCommerce and MailChimp for WooCommerce. Was the WooCommerce updated since posting the system status page here? I’m seeing “3.1.2 – 3.2.0 is available” for the WooCommerce plugin.

If the WooCommerce plugin was updated and you still aren’t seeing orders come over, the next steps will be troubleshooting for possible plugin or theme conflicts. To troubleshoot plugins, this would be done by deactivating all plugins except for WooCommerce, deleting the MailChimp for WooCommerce plugin, followed by reinstalling the MailChimp for WooCommerce plugin while the other plugins remain deactivated. To troubleshoot the theme, the theme can be changed to “Twenty Seventeen” followed by the MailChimp for WooCommerce being deactivated, deleted, and then reinstalled again.

If the site is live and edits such as these could hinder functionality of the live site, we strongly recommend testing these steps in a staging environment.

    Hey there @christophe83

Unfortunately the plugin only syncs Email Address, First Name, Last Name, and purchase data. There is not a built in way to add subscribers to groups. That would require some additional setup on the MailChimp side or by setting up something custom to update those newly added contacts using the MailChimp API.

MailChimp does host a directory of developers familiar working with the app that you can reach out to if you’d like more hands-on assistance, or anyone here in the developer forum is welcome to chime in with ideas.

That said, you can certainly use the Signup Source segment based on “MailChimp for WooCommerce” to update those who first joined the list via purchasing something from your store and synced via the integration.

Conditionally printing the checkbox isn’t something available right now, though you can control some default settings, as pictured here. This may be possible to accomplish using a custom setup, but regardless, I’ll pass along the feedback to our team!

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. Let me know if you have any questions.
