In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] mailchimp_woocommerce_is_subscribedHey @esucces
Thanks for reaching out. This discrepancy could be the case if a contact in MailChimp resubscribed themselves to the list after originally making their purchase in WooCommerce having not selected the “subscribe to list” checkbox. For instance, the contact may have initially not selected the checkbox, made a purchase, but then later subscribed to the MailChimp list through other means.
With that being said, there could be a few different factors at play. I might suggest contacting MailChimp’s Support Team to investigate further into this, as they have access to tools to look at your specific account information.
If there’s anything else we can assist with, don’t hesitate to let us know.

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] API key not validatingHey @northfog
Thanks for your post. I can certainly help take a look into this with you.
Getting started, could you provide the WooCommerce System Status Report for the site exhibiting this behavior? This will help us to verify that the site meets the minimum requirements to run the plugin.
Thanks in advance for this. I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Sync problemsHey @didactforum
Thanks for providing that system status report. Looking over things, I can see that the site is currently running on PHP 5.6.31. The MailChimp for WooCommerce plugin requires that a site meets the minimum requirements to run the ‘WooCommerce’ plugin, which requires PHP version 7, as noted here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/server-requirements/
This is a recent change that we’re working on getting updated in our documentation. However, I would recommend updating the PHP version on the site and then deactivating and reactivating the plugin to see if the sync completes.
Feel free to let me know if anything else crops up.

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Sync taking forever – third time I am tryingHey @dduet
Thanks for providing that thorough information.
Looking over things, I noticed that the site is running version 2.6.12 of the WooCommerce plugin. It’ll be necessary to update to a more recent version of WooCommerce as our plugin is not designed to support older versions of the WooCommerce plugin. You can download the latest version of WooCommerce here, or find the prompt to update the plugin within the WordPress admin panel.
If you continue seeing issues after updating, don’t hesitate to let me know.

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Sync doesn’t workHey @manjusah28
Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately we would not be able to rework the plugin to work with older versions of WooCommerce. I would recommend primarily looking into the fatal error occurring while running newer versions of WooCommerce. Additionally, I might suggest testing versions of WooCommerce newer than 2.6.13 but earlier than the latest version, 3.1.2. You can find archived versions of WooCommerce plugin here.
With that said, older versions of our ‘MailChimp for WooCommerce’ plugin are publicly available to download. With these older versions, they are no longer being developed or supported, and any unexpected behavior or bugs you encounter will not be addressed. I would strongly recommend testing with any older versions of the plugin, though you can find them available to download here.
If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to let me know.

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Checkout cart wont clearHey there @linkslegend
Thanks for your post and for providing all these details upfront.
I can see that this site meets all the required specifications to run MailChimp for WooCommerce. That said, I suspect there may be a plugin conflict going on that’s causing the site to not clear out the cart after the purchase is complete.
Just to be sure we’re on the samge page, could you clarify a few details to better inform our troubleshooting moving forward?
– Does this issue only occur when checking out via PayPal?
– What is the specific plugin being used to enable checkout via PayPal? I can see “WooCommerce PayPal Express Checkout Gateway” in the status report, but I’d like to confirm
– Does this issue persist when using a different PayPal checkout plugin?
– What is the specific step by step process you’re taking up to seeing the cart not cleared out? Thanks so much for these additional details. I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Sync doesn’t workHey there @manjusah28
Thanks for writing back with all this detailed information. I really appreciate the status report and debugging logs you’ve provided here. Additionally, thanks for taking those steps to troubleshoot based on theme, plugins, and abandoned cart functionality to rule out those possible factors at play. It seems there is something more fundamental going on causing a problem.
I took some time to test out the plugin with a development version of 2.6.13 of the WooCommerce plugin. When testing with this version of WooCommerce in a testing environment, I was also unable to sync customers and getting a stuck sync.
In this case, it seems that the version of WooCommerce needs to be updated. Our plugin does function properly with the newest version of WooCommerce, ver. 3.1.2. If you’re unable to download this newest version for any reason, I would still recommend getting the newest version possible and testing again.
If you continue seeing unexpected behavior, feel free to write back and let me know.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Opt-In Checkbox Not Showing for One Page CheckoutHey Jax!
I totally understand wanting to get this issue resolved ASAP. Having a paid MailChimp account would not affect resolution time. To clarify a bit, while we forum responders collect details and cases to pass along to our developers, we are not developers ourselves. This means that while we can certainly pass along new information to our developers, or request additional information on their behalf, we ourselves are not working on a fix and we would not be able to expedite a resolution.
Thank you,

In reply to: [Mailchimp List Subscribe Form] Merge tag for WordPress blog excerptHey there @bricklayerpayne
Thanks for your post. Generating blog content with a merge tag is a bit beyond the scope of what the List Subscribe Plugin offers. That said, I might recommend checking out MailChimp’s Knowledge Base or contacting their support team for some further insight into what you’re specifically trying to accomplish.
I did take a minute to browse the MailChimp Knowledge Base and found an article that may be worth looking over to see if it fits the bill: https://kb.mailchimp.com/merge-tags/rss-merge-tags
If you’re still looking for solutions, I’d recommend reaching out to MailChimp Support directly. And always, if you have any questions about the List Subscribe Plugin, feel free to let us know.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Sync doesn’t workHey there @manjusah28
Thanks for your post. I’d definitely like to help troubleshoot this behavior you’re seeing.
While I’m not able to access your particular MailChimp account, I would recommend building a segment within the MailChimp list connected with the store to verify that orders are not being synced over. One quick way to do this is to build a segment based on “Purchase Activity > Has Purchased” or find the specific email address and view the “E-Commerce” tab under the subscriber profile.
If you’re still not seeing any orders, I can assist in some high-level troubleshooting that can sometimes cause this to happen.
– First, could you provide your site’s WooCommerce System Status Report? This will give us a view of the site’s setup, server settings, and active plugins running on the site. This insight will help us determine if anything does in fact need to be upgraded to a later version or not.
– Next, are you able to see if other functions of the plugin are working as expected? For instance, does an Abandoned Cart Automation still trigger when someone abandons a shopping cart on the site? Thanks in advance for all these helpful details. I’ll keep an eye on this thread for your reply.

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Sync taking forever – third time I am tryingHey @dduet
Thanks for your post. I’d like to help investigate what’s causing this hold-up on the Sync tab of the setup process. There are a number of factors that can come into play here, so I’d like to start by ruling out a few things to get started:
– Could you provide the site’s WooCommerce System Status Report? This will allow us to check the site meets minimum requirements and get a high-level view of other plugins running in the environment
– If possible, could you provide screenshots of the plugin settings tabs leading up to the Sync tab?
– Finally, could you tell me the step-by-step workflow leading up to encountering the error, and what exactly this behavior looks like when it gets stuck? Thanks in advance for these details. I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Shoddy implementation of initial syncing.Hey @nitecrwlr,
Sorry to hear you were unable to use the plugin on this site. If you are interested in troubleshooting things further, I would recommend ensuring that the site meets the minimum requirements to run the plugin (mainly a requirement of PHP and MySQL 5.6 or greater).
Additionally, it may be worth seeking to find any theme or plugin conflicts. Deactivating other plugins or switching to a different theme before reinstalling the ‘MailChimp for WooCommerce’ plugin might reveal another plugin that our plugin conflicts with.
Again I’m sorry to hear your experience with the plugin wasn’t ideal, though definitely let us know if there’s any questions we can help answer moving forward.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Order notifications sending issuesHey there @chrisplaneta
Thanks for your post. Order Notification Automations are a feature that the plugin interacts with, though our knowledge on how that feature works within MailChimp may be a bit limited, as we cannot access your particular account.
That being said, I did do a bit of testing in our test account to see what I could find for you. The Order Notification Automation will send the “Order Invoice” email when an order is passed with the “processing” status, and the “Shipping Confirmation” email should be sent when an order is moved to a “completed” status.
All that said, if you’re seeing something different here, I’d recommend reaching out to MailChimp’s support team here. They’ll be able to take a look at your account’s setup to get a better sense of diagnosing what’s going on.
Thanks again for your post, and let me know if you have any questions.

Hey @fariazz
Thanks for all of your thoughtful feedback here. We certainly want to make sure that error logging is working properly and it sounds like it’s not working as we would expect here.
I understand you’ve already been discussing these issues with the e-commerce team at MailChimp Support for some time.
To make sure we’re not covering any already-trodden ground, I’d like to focus here on that screenshot you shared about the plugin taking up your site’s resources.
Can you share a screenshot of the MailChimp for WooCommerce Plugin settings? Specifically, can you share a screenshot of what the logging tab looks like on your side?
Thanks in advance for this additional piece of context. I’ll keep you updated as I pass this information over to our team to have a closer look.
