Hello Thomas,
That’s happening because you are not setting up the og tags for your page and facebook fetch the first image from your content. You can see that this is also reported by the debugger -> http://prntscr.com/o6bna3
You can install a plugin that generates that for you, something like Yoast plugin should be just fine.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks for your review, @martingfisher !
We have some neat things scheduled for next month that should make some difference on this too. Happy to hear that you like it so far!
Thanks for your review, @msaeidi.
Would love to know more from your side on how we can make this better.
Hello @rudolfl,
Usually, this occurs when you already use a lazy loading plugin or option in some plugin/theme which is conflicting with our plugin.
In order to solve such issues, you can check if this is the case.
Otherwise, you can get in touch with me on https://optimole.com/#contact and we can further debug this together.
Thanks for understanding.
Hello @enricogenoa,
Yes, Optimole is compatible with WMPL but I see that the program relates to theme developers, not plugin developers. I will check their site if they have something similar for plugins too.
thanks for letting me know.
Hello @schirmer_rs,
Yes, you can use Varnish but I do not sure how this will help you regarding the images as we store the cached version in the cloud.
But if you are interested if those are compatible, yes they are.
Hello @taisho,
That’s indeed strange. Do you still face the issue right now?
Can you send a support request on https://optimole.com/#contact with a screenshot of the General settings page, top area, from the site with problems?
Thanks !
Hey Renato,
Yes, if you can do that but this will make Smush becomes obsolete in your use-case as the images will be processed by both services.
I hope this helps.
Hello,
Currently, the watermark is still experimental so it might not work as expected for certain images.
Indeed we are looking to offer a more advanced filter where the watermark should apply, but this is still under development.
Thanks for understanding.
Happy to hear that you like it, @mythologica !
Hello @mythologica,
This is due to some edge cases related to the images that you use and the mechanism of optimization that we have implemented.
We never deliver an image that is larger, in size, than the original image that you want to optimize.
For some users that were already optimized the images to the maximum, it might trigger this kind of errors.
Some things that you could do right now are:
- Try to enable JS replacement and lazyload which might deliver smaller images due to the exact scale option.
- Lower the quality factor to something smaller, maybe low and see how it goes
We are aiming in the next release to make this mechanism of switching to the original size if the optimized size is smaller, optional for those people who prefer better quality rather than the smallest size possible.
I hope you understand, let me know if you have any suggestion for this approach or if there is anything else I can help you with.
Thanks for your honest review, @kymkm!
We are working hard to change that 4-star rating to a 5 in the nearby future.
Hello @mythologica,
Can you change the quality factor from the Optimole General settings to something like medium? Let me know if this fixes the issue for you?
Thanks!
Hello @taisho,
That’s pretty strange. Would you mind to contact me on https://optimole.com/#contact to have a closer look and debug the issue together?
Looking forward to helping you.
Hello @taisho,
I’m not sure if this is caused by the latest release as we have not changed anything related in the newest version.
Checking your reply I can see that this is related to the admin dashboard page. Can you please check if the site URL in your Settings -> General uses HTTP or HTTPS?
If is using the first one, can you change that to HTTPS instead which should fix this issue also?
Thanks!
