In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Review Display Limit IssueHi @navasahmed,
Thank you for your topic!
If you need to show all reviews with constantly auto synced and without any weird with API key and billing, please use the business version.
The free plugin uses the Google Places API to get your reviews. The API only returns the 5-10 most helpful reviews. When Google changes the 5 most helpful the plugin will automatically add the new one to your database. Thus slowly building up a database of reviews. It’s a limitation of Google, not specifically the plugin.
The plugin can only download what Google returns in their Places API. It is usually the 5 Most Helpful (not newest) reviews. You can check what the API returns by entering your Place ID and Google API key in this url:
However, if you got new reviews for your Google place, but the plugin does not show these, it means that Google didn’t include it to 5 most helpful and the plugin just can’t get this. It’s a limitation of Google, not the plugin.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Profile images not showingHi @getbolt,
It seems a conflict with some other lazy load img plugin, first of all, please try to turn off the option Advance Options / Load Lazy Images in the reviews widget and let us know.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Reviews not updatingHi @aviry,
Thank you for information.
I just checked your API key and it works. However, at the moment the problem in another. When I try to get latest reviews via this Google API URL (which used in this plugin):
https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/place/details/json?placeid=ChIJTZpoKe0vb68Rr0kebmdU0K4&key=[YOUR_GOOGLE_API_KEY]I got the error message:
“The provided Place ID is no longer valid. Please refresh cached Place IDs… }
This error in most cases know that your Google place does not have a physical address or it’s not configured in your Google My Business admin. Could you confirm that?
If so, unfortunately, it’s not possible to update your reviews and connect it again, because Google does not allow to get reviews for the area or service places, I mean places which are not have a physicals address on Google map. Unfortunately, it’s a Google limitation, not the plugin.
However, if you update or add your address in your Google Business profile, it should work instantly.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Reviews not updatingHi @aviry,
Thank you for your reply!
Google reviews are not updating because billing is not enabled for your API key in Google Console.
Recently, Google has disabled the use of Places API for free and introduced mandatory Billing. Unfortunately, since the plugin uses this Places API to show reviews, you need to enable Billing on your Google account. It’s a limitation of Google, not specifically the plugin.
You can enable a Billing here https://console.cloud.google.com/project/_/billing/enable and learn more about it here https://developers.google.com/maps/gmp-get-started.
Don’t worry, Google is currently giving $200 free credit a month and it should be enough to use the plugin for connecting several Google places without additional fees except this free $200 credits.
If you have any questions please let us know.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Google SearchesHi @buildblog,
Thank you for clarification. It seems you mean a Rich Snippets.
At the moment, it’s not an option of the business plugin (the free didn’t have this at all) since 2019 due Google’s limitation. According to the changes in Sep 2019, Google forbidden a LocalBusiness and Organisation schema type in the Rich Snippets for all sites except a listing/directory-sites (like Yelp or Facebook), according to this it’s not possible to use in the business plugin.
Here is a source:
https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2019/09/making-review-rich-results-more-helpful.html
Also Google disallows using other schema types like Product, Book or Recipe for Google map reviews. Because these types should be described about a specific item, not reviews for a company, service or some business.
However, some other competition plugins have such a workaround, I mean use a Product schema type for a map reviews, unfortunately, Google can mark the page with this markup like a spammy rating and drop from a search. We can’t take that risk and didn’t add this workaround to our plugin.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Google SearchesHi @buildblog,
If you’re asking about can Google index reviews like a content of your website, the answer is yes, because it’s a plugin and it shows HTML like a part of your site which of course indexed.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Link to Google doesn`t workHi @fitnsexy,
Could you explain the issue more? On your homepage I see the rating layout without name which should be a link. Stars and powered by logo are not clickable.
Thanks!
