Thank you for your answer.
Please let us know if the message below the textarea doesn’t fully explain what needs to be done to connect the reviews. I think we can improve that.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] No connect button after entering placeHi @sim64,
Thank you for your topic.
Without your own API key you should paste a Google map URL to your business. If you pasted it and Connect button didn’t appear, please send link to this place.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Missing Alt TagsHi @r33c3,
Thank you for your topic!
The main goal of alt attribute is showing something if the image is not loading. However, near the author image there’s his name which duplicates the same text like in the alt attribute and if the image is not showing, you will see two same names one after another. This creates a new problem and will not pass the WAVE (Web Accessibility Evaluation) test. Due this we removed alt content (left this attribute empty) in case the name is visible. If you disabled name, the alt will be filled.
From an SEO point of view there’re no issues. Because it’s not a problem and if you need to index names it will be indexed correctly in both cases, if name is present and if not.
However, please share your thoughts on this matter; we will consider the possibility of restoring the alt tags to how they worked before, as we have received many similar requests.
Please let us know.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Paste Maps URL but nothing happensHi @splendourdevs,
Thank you for your answer.
The debug information is fine. Could you also open a browser console and show the Network’s tab, after that paste the URL again and show what the request returns? Send a screenshot.
Thanks!
Hi @lcsweb,
Thank you for your topic.
Below is detailed steps how to resolve this.
- First of all, please make sure that you’re using the latest version of the plugin 6.5;
- If so, the problem may be with your own Google API key, please go to the page in wp-admin Google Reviews / Support / Advance Options, remove the API key and save the setting;
- After that, return back to your reviews widget on the page Google Reviews / Widgets and edit this widget (or create new);
- Click by connected Google place (or click Connect Google button, if it’s not connected yet);
- Paste the full map URL of your place, wait a second and click Connect button (which should appear);
- Wait up to 10-15 seconds and you should see your connected reviews which you can display on your website via shortcode, widget or block.
If it doesn’t help, please send:
- Screenshot of the issue where you stop, how it looks on your end;
- Debug information from the page: Google Reviews / Settings / Advance tab. You need to click the ‘Copy Debug Information‘ button, paste copied to this reply and send it to us.
For the debug information, please use ‘Pastebin‘ service to show it here.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Couldn’t Get Plug-In to Work…Hi @alexander_lau,
Yes, sure, I understand that this is not about resolving. I’m just saying that your link doesn’t lead to a place on Google Maps with a rating and reviews, which is what the plugin definitely requires.
In any case, thank you for sharing your experience!

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Couldn’t Get Plug-In to Work…Hi @alexander_lau,
We apologize, but we don’t know what URL you entered. You don’t even want to send it to us support to check. However, if it were a URL for a Google map business, a “Connect” button would appear in less than a second. If it didn’t appear, then your URL does not lead to a business location on Google map with a rating (and reviews), which is not a use case for this plugin. It’s unfortunate that you want to express your negative opinion instead of resolving this issue.

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Cannot Proceed Past Intro ScreenHi @alexander_lau,
Thank you for your feedback! In 99.9% of cases, users simply paste their Google map URL, and it connects instantly without any issues. That’s why we didn’t implement an error message — it has always worked perfectly until now. We’re really interested to understand why it didn’t work in your case so we can fix it and make sure the plugin works 100% reliably for everyone. You can send it to our email support.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Cannot Proceed Past Intro ScreenHi @alexander_lau,
We’re trying to help. It seems that the Google Maps URL is incorrect – please make sure it’s a full Maps URL, like the example shown in the Placeholder field of the search modal in the plugin initial connection dialog.
Thanks!
