It’s nice to know people also review the code before deployment! It sometimes feels like I’m the only one who bothers.

In reply to: [Disable Emojis (GDPR friendly)] Curiosity is killing meI updated the plugin page a minute ago to explain issues regarding GDPR.
Short version: I’m trying to reduce my need to respond to questions via email 😉

In reply to: [Disable Emojis (GDPR friendly)] Prefetching CDN againI suspect this problem is caused by using the jsdelivr CDN across your whole site, and it’s interfering with the URLs used in the prefetch system and causing the plugin to keep fetching them.

In reply to: [Disable Emojis (GDPR friendly)] Prefetching CDN againI’ve marked this as resolved since I failed to find any problem. If you can replicate this problem with a blank WordPress install, just reopen the thread and let me know where you found the domain listed, and I will take another look for you.

In reply to: [Disable Emojis (GDPR friendly)] Prefetching CDN againI didn’t find any reference to that domain name in WordPress at all.
Perhaps this is being added to your site by some other code?

In reply to: [Disable Emojis (GDPR friendly)] Curiosity is killing meBecause a large number of Germans were sending me messages asking if the plugin caused any problems with GDPR compliancy.
The idea came from Mika Epstein (Ipstenu) who said there were a lot of copycat plugins labelled as GDPR friendly being submitted to ww.wp.xz.cn.

In reply to: [WPAdverts - Classifieds Plugin] Description field is read-onlyI have no idea what that’s about sorry. Hopefully the developer of the WPAdverts – Classifieds Plugin can help with that.

In reply to: [WPAdverts - Classifieds Plugin] Description field is read-onlyIt just does it automatically.
Note that it doesn’t stop you from manually adding emoji into your site. It just removes the extra stuff that WordPress core adds in for support emoji’s.
It also doesn’t turn of smilies, as that’s a different thing altogether. I think there’s a toggle for that on one of the WordPress options pages though.
