In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Cannot replace the current PDF file in media libraryHi mariezea5,
Thanks for your message.
Could you please check this thread, where this issue is being discussed? This sounds like a cache issue 🙂 https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/its-not-replacing/

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Images are not replaced (caching problem excluded)Hi ARTWORX,
I apologize for the delay in responding. Part of our team is on vacation, and we’ve just released a new version of our popular image optimization plugin, ShortPixel Image Optimizer, so we’re busier than usual.
We’ll take a look at this as soon as we can. In the meantime, perhaps you could reach out to the Robin team? Also, if you or they happen to find a solution, any contributions are welcome, as this is a free plugin: https://github.com/short-pixel-optimizer/enable-media-replace
Thanks!

In reply to: [Autoload Checker] Shows incorrect valueHey spcsnacker,
Based on my tests, the plugin works well. I would have appreciated it if you had opened a new support thread so I could assist you with troubleshooting instead of posting a 1-star review straightaway. I’m still available if you need any help.

In reply to: [Resize Image After Upload] AVIF supportHi there,
Thank you for reaching out and for taking the time to create this thread. Let me address your questions:
- Support for AVIF Images
Currently, our plugin does not support resizing AVIF images, but we understand its importance as AVIF becomes more widely adopted. If this is a feature you’d like to see, we welcome contributions or detailed suggestions on GitHub: https://github.com/short-pixel-optimizer/resize-image-after-upload. This helps us prioritize new features for future updates. - Images with Incorrect Orientation
The orientation issue is a known limitation caused by how some devices store image orientation information in EXIF metadata. When EXIF data is stripped during resizing, the orientation can be lost. Unfortunately, this is a technical limitation that is not entirely within our control.
That said, in a previous discussion, a user suggested using tools like
exiftranto handle this. While we are open to exploring this further, implementing such a solution requires careful consideration to avoid unintended consequences, such as misrotating images. If you have additional insights or suggestions on this, we’d love to hear them and discuss possible approaches. We appreciate your patience and your feedback, and we’re always here to assist and improve. Let us know if there’s anything else we can help with!
Best regards,
Hi nilreb5,
No, you don’t require a monthly subscription to serve next-gen images from CDN. There’s only two things to keep in mind if you want to do that:
- Have enough credits (which is anyway required to optimize your images).
- Associate your domain: https://shortpixel.com/knowledge-base/article/how-to-associate-a-domain-to-my-account/
That should be all!

In reply to: [Resize Image After Upload] Disappointed and Unsatisfactory PerformanceHello there,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we understand your disappointment, we would like to address the points you raised to provide clarity:
- Support for WebP and AVIF
We appreciate that WebP and AVIF are increasingly common, but the plugin has never advertised support for resizing these formats. Writing a negative review based on the absence of a feature we never claimed to support seems unfair. We would have appreciated it if you had submitted a feature request instead, as we are always open to considering new ideas to improve the plugin. - Wrong Orientation Issue
We take all issues seriously and would like to clarify that we have never refused to fix the orientation issue. Based on a thread from several months ago, we explained the technical limitation: some devices write orientation information in the EXIF metadata. When EXIF data is removed, this information is lost. We even explored the possibility of using alternative methods (such as the exiftran tool) to resolve the issue, but there were significant challenges in implementing such a solution without causing unintended side effects. - Communication and Support
We strive to provide timely and helpful support. However, we could not address your concerns because you did not reach out to us before leaving this review. We always encourage users to contact us through the support forums with any issues or feature requests. We aim to respond quickly and work closely with users to resolve their concerns. - Contributing to the Plugin
As a free plugin, we welcome contributions from the community. If you feel strongly about adding features or fixing limitations, you’re more than welcome to contribute directly to the plugin on GitHub: https://github.com/short-pixel-optimizer/resize-image-after-upload.
Finally, we want to emphasize that our team is dedicated to improving this plugin and supporting its users. We hope you’ll consider reaching out to us directly in the future so we can work together to address your concerns and hopefully edit your review 🙂
Best regards,
