here is what I did
- first I cleared the cache both with the wp rocket cache and object cache pro
- I then checked the items and still listed the full list ie no change
- then i the recount items – refreshed page no change
- I then regenrated product attribs – refreshed page no change
- then updated database -refreshed page no change
- i then again picked a category that I am not using deleted it – refreshed and everything back to normal
how weird any thoughts?
