Unlike many products in the ww.wp.xz.cn repository, OptinMonster is a SaaS product (essentially, software we host so you don’t have to host the entire application on your own site, which can often slow down a site).

Our WordPress plugin extends the functionality of OptinMonster for WordPress users specifically, letting them more easily target pages, posts, categories, tags, and even integrates with other WordPress plugins…but it does require a connection to our app to access the core functionality.

The purpose of registering an account then is so that we can connect the plugin on your site, to the app itself.

If you have any other questions about how OptinMonster and our WordPress plugin work together to help grow lists, leads and sales, please don’t hesitate to ask.

You’re 100% right. All our plans require a credit card in order to start, even the free plan and some features are only available on certain plan levels.

However, you can control when and if your card on file is used within your account settings. You can read more about those settings here – https://optinmonster.com/docs/pageview-and-upgrade-preferences/. And you can always upgrade at any time to gain access to the features you’d like.
