Thanks for letting us know @roach7. I wondered why it stopped working for us several months ago.

Hi @truebird! Andrew turned the plugin over to us, and we’ve updated it to support the Help Scout 2.0 API. You will need to update to the new 2.0 version of the plugin, and then create a new app in Help Scout under Your Profile > My Apps. Then put those credentials into the plugins’s settings, click the button, and authorize the app to have access to your account. Everything should then work as it has.
If it doesn’t. Start a new thread here in the forums and we’ll work with you to get it sorted out. Thanks!

In reply to: [Rich Reviews by Starfish] New version 1.8 problemsHey all, thanks for reporting this. We’re investigating. Will keep you posted.
Version 1.8 (there was already a 1.7 that we weren’t initially aware of) is now available! Please update to remove the vulnerabilities and ensure your site is secure.
We are not supporting and maintaining this plugin. So you can rest assured that things will be better going forward.

In reply to: [Rich Reviews by Starfish] Customers cannot submit a review. Error on page.Hi @kwestfehling. My team and I at Starfish Reviews adopted this plugin and are working on a security update for it. We’re hopeful this security release will be available this week. Once it is, can you try updating and let us know if this is still an issue? We’ve re-written one major portion of the plugin and it may have resolved this issue. But if not, we’ll work on it to see what we can do.
You might also try disabling the security plugins, just to check if they are conflicting in some way. But don’t do that until you’ve updated Rich Reviews with the 1.8 version coming this week (hopefully). Until then, you should keep it disabled, for security.

In reply to: How to contact a moderator about editing a post? Thanks so much @sterndata. I’ll have to figure out how to get into my WP.org Slack so I can do that.
I’ve commented with the correction. Thank you! You can close it again, if you want.

In reply to: [Rich Reviews by Starfish] Secure version 1.7 is coming soon!Update: there was already a certain 1.7 that we weren’t initially aware of. So 1.8 is the secured and hardened version. It’s currently under review by the plugins team. So hopefully it’ll be available for download and automatic update, sometime this week.

In reply to: [Simple Divi Shortcode] How to use in a footer widgetProbably when the Theme Builder launches later this month, we won’t need this trick anymore. But it worked great for me in this case, until we get the Divi Theme builder.

In reply to: [Pre-Publish Checklist] Bug: can’t un-publish post without checking listYeah. I understand that, but each time I edit an older post, it’s kinda a pain to have to check all the boxes if I want to require them for new posts. Would be nice if it only applied when going from Draft/Pending to Published. Not from Published to Published (Update).

In reply to: [Rich Reviews by Starfish] Is this plugin still be supported?Hi @jlhoffman77. The previous owners of the plugin had decided not to support it, some time back. However, because of the recent malware infections allowed by a vulnerability in this plugin, it came to our attention that it needed a new home. So we at Starfish Reviews have decided to adopt it and will be supporting it going forward. We’re about to release version 1.7 that should fix all security issues.
More details in this thread: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/secure-version-1-7-is-coming-soon/
Hi @djbeyhan, I think it was true that they didn’t want to do anything further with Rich Reviews, since fixing this issue the right way required re-writing the whole options interface for the plugin.
We saw the post on Sophos that mentioned they’d be interested in having someone take over. So Matt and I (the Starfish Reviews team) has decided to adopt this plugin and fix the security vulnerabilities in it. You can see that Nuanced Media has updated the post that @eiabergm linked to above, stating that we’re taking over.
We’re hard at work on an update. Matt has fixed the main vulnerability by completely re-writing the options interface. We’re now just testing functionality to make sure everything works correctly. We should have a secure update out soon, but I don’t have an ETA for you yet.
At this point we highly recommend disabling the Rich Reviews plugin until the 1.7 update has been released and applied on your site.
