@jdembowski Can’t anybody read MORE THAN TWO LINES? Talking about short attention span… Skim reading doesn’t cut it!
I paid a developer to create a static home page for this free theme! Totally different thing. And my problems are NOT related to the static front page, they are related to the upgrade of the free theme. Thanks for nothing.
The real shame is: days (literally DAYS) before the update messed up so much I had paid a developer good money to create a (semi-)static home page for our Hueman theme! I really liked Hueman until the 3.3.8 update and saw no reason to change themes… See also this thread here (which was never replied to either).
Now I’m truly upset, because for less money I could have bought a ‘Divi’ license and have a fresh and new page design.
@nikeo :
thanks, this is one major step in the right direction! The menu on mobile is almost okay now (I only get a strange on-off behaviour of the bottom border and shadow = nothing dramatic), but unfortunately on desktop the main issue remains unchanged.
The top menu, with the parent groups, is now in the correct colour (although the bottom border, the orange line, is still missing). But as soon as you expand the dropdown the background for the individual category links is still (almost) black with black text.
See new screen capture: https://www.dropbox.com/s/usw8g99dgac6dkq/new-Hueman-dropdown-problem.jpg?dl=0
I’ve tried my best to get to the css with Firebug, but since it only expands on hover I fail every time. I’m sure if I can get the names for the classes used for the expanded menu (the dropdown background color) and add them to your bandaid css [from above] it should work for time being…
Can you please give me the class name(s) for the dropdown background color!
Thanks for the reply, @denzel
Before the update the sticky menu was always present on top – and that’s what I want! Not this flipping in an out. Is there a way I could change the code in function.php or another file?
Regarding the reverting of the background (to dark) of the menu: how long do expect we’ll have to wait for a fix?
If more than a few days I will go back to 3.3.7 as the current state really renders my menu near useless.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Hueman] topbar sticky@denzel Chia: that does NOT seem to be the issue. After reading this thread I went back to my site and checked my settings – they are exactly as required and my menu has also lost its ‘stickiness’ since the last theme update. If you wish I can take another screen capture to prove.
Please see my help request https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/urgent-how-to-fix-top-navigation-issues-after-theme-update/ where I mention this! This is obviously an issue with the latest update and not related to settings in WP Customiser.

In reply to: [Hueman] Real Problems After Updating to 3.9.9@puntoman: have you been able to find a reason for the missing sidebar widgets?
Mine are complete on the home page, two important ones are missing on all posts and pages. And my navigation menu ain’t sticky anymore.
[I don’t have tons of time to deal with this. We’re full-time travellers and rely only solar power and mobile internet access – both aren’t always a given and hence limit my computer time.]

In reply to: [Hueman] Tons of problems after I updated Theme to 3.3.9@sho-down: but I use Google Fonts, only that mine are specified in the css.
But I’ll give it a try. 😉
EDIT: yes, this fixed one problem! Thank you!
Now only TWO MAJOR ones remain:
1. navigation not sticky (and wrong colour)
2. missing sidebar widgetsForum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Hueman] Tons of problems after I updated Theme to 3.3.9Oh God – the longer I look the more problems I discover!
Now I just found an issue with the body font!!
In our latest post most of the text is in ‘Roboto’ – the standard version which I use since day 1 of our WordPress blog! Yet the last paragraph changed to ‘Roboto Condensed’ – one of the ones in your drop-down list. To make it clear: this text is still part of the same post, all created in the WordPress editor.
See capture:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z4xno30r0k6wlwg/font-change-within-post.jpg?dl=0I also noticed that ‘Roboto Condensed’ is now appearing in some text widgets and other areas of my pages. I want the standard ‘Roboto’ for all! More than 2 fonts on any page is ugly.
I had no choice but chose that one – but I don’t want it! There’s no option to set ‘default’!
I had spent considerable time to pick the right font for our blog. I wanted something which is easy to read on Mobile, doesn’t create long lines of text on desktop screen (runs reasonably wide), and, most importantly, is sans-serif and without the curly hooks on the underlength of the g, like so many sans-serif fonts have (eg Open Sans, the font used on this page).
I have no idea how to fix this!
Other than you giving an option for ‘default’ font or no font in the WordPress Customizer.ps: this is a capture from SWIron (Chrome browser) – do you notice once again the dark menu background (instead of white)?
And you can (not) see the missing 2 widgets – mentioned above! Please compare with the other captures of the ‘home’ page.

In reply to: [Hueman] Tons of problems after I updated Theme to 3.3.9[It’s a BIG nightmare for me right now – since we’re anyhow way behind with ‘work’ (like blog updates, sorting/naming photos, keeping up with social media sharing, etc.) due to lack of power to use our computers. I mentioned our situation above. Now I face this trouble! I could have easily published a new blog post (write text, prepare photos, publish) in less time than I wasted on this crap! The stress is going so far that yesterday I had an unnecessary fight with my wife… All we needed!]
So, today I wasted several hours and expensive mobile bandwidth going through ‘WP Customizer’ to change colours – some things are now fixed, some still don’t work!
[I actually don’t even like to use the WP Customizer Tool – it’s another of these new WordPress features I could have done without. For me, relying only on expensive mobile data, it’s nothing but a waste of money. But that’s with all changes to WordPress: only fancy optical gadgets which to me are absolutely useless and make it rather more difficult to use WP. Ask my wife how often she wastes time {or asks me} looking for some function links which now only show up when you hover your mouse in the right spot. Who needs such crap?]
And new problems are showing:
The main issue now is the TOP MENU!
1. the Menu has lost its stickiness! That was one feature which really made me chose HUEMAN. Now it’s not working anymore!
2. I set the Menu background back to white. But now I lost my styling, which included a thin coloured bottom border line and a gentle drop shadow. The bottom border only shows correctly if you hover your mouse over the menu.
3. But – and now it gets worse! – when you scroll a little down the page the Menu reverts back to black background! I have black text for Menu links – which one can’t read anymore!
4. the Menu shows exactly the same behaviour (I should say ‘Bugs’) on Mobile!
5. the Mobile Menu has lost its ‘Search’ button!
I have tested this in both, Firefox 52 and Chrome 45.
I have taken a number of screen captures, which show the different behaviours through the scrolling stages – all in one file (50% size):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/77v44e7psgymvac/menu-not-sticky.jpg?dl=0The sticky MENU is important to me! I don’t give a toss about a sticky sidebar (as I was ready to dump it all together – Mobile visitors never get to see it, and they now make 60% of our readership)!
But since I’m at the sidebar:
The issue, that some widgets are NOT showing on ‘Post’ pages remains! These are 2, Hello & Welcome and the Jetpack Facebook widget. In the order of my widgets these are #1 and #3, widget #2 (Google Translate) is always showing for some weird reason…https://www.dropbox.com/s/dc43nq102o2tr1p/widgets.JPG?dl=0
Question: above somebody suggested that setting colours to ‘Default’, instead of my custom colours, might rescue my custom css. Will this work with the bottom border of the top navigation?
Nicolas, I was ready to wind back to the previous version 3.3.7, which luckily I have sitting on my local harddisk. But then: where would it leave me should there be an urgent security update of the theme?
[Sorry about my ranting. I’m still stressed by this and angry! So unnecessary this trouble – and at the wrong time all together…]
Thanks for getting back! The one I discovered the problem on is
http://dare2go.com/forget-bolivias-death-road-drive-pe-3n-peru/But you may try any post on our site dare2go.com
(ps: we are active travel bloggers and on the road in remote Peru = not often online!)
Thanks, Jeremy!
I just tested in Chrome (or in my case SRWare Iron Browser) and, in deed, the widget shows in the sidebar. Sorry about that!
I recently updated Firefox, my preferred browser because I have a long history with it, to version 52. Maybe that messed something up. *)
I certainly didn’t change or add any browser add-ons. Being on the road, with very limited internet access, means I never have much online time to play with things, add new features, or test things extensively. From my point of view you may now really close this ticket – unless others want to jump in with similar problems. Once again: sorry about the panic. At least I know where to look.
*) although: I seem to recall that after the update I tested our new home page version (still not up) and it did work okay. Mystery…
Sorry that I come back to this so late – we have been into the Amazon lowlands of Peru (our blog is a travel blog!) and there was no mobile data available! I didn’t expect it either…
Now I checked our page in a ‘Private Window’ in Firefox – Our Dare2Go-Page ids freely accessible!
I also went into the settings of our page (as suggested by Facebook) to check:
Country restrictions Page is visible to everyone. Age restrictions Page is shown to everyone. Page moderation No words are being blocked from the Page. Profanity filter Set to mediumSo I’m sorry to say, but that the widget is not working anymore has nothing to do with any such restrictions on my page!
I hope your search for the reason continues…
(ps: we’re still in the Amazon region so my internet access will be patchy at best)Forum: Reviews
In reply to: [Hueman] Do not bother downloading anymore they have changed anything worthyVery late to this, but I feel I have to step in for Nicolas, the new developer!
The upgrade route, from the old alxmedia version to the presscustomizr version, was actually clearly defined by Nicolas. If you kept your theme and WP versions up-to-date nothing major broke.
I only had to adjust a few minor things in my child theme = that was it.Nicolas always made it clear that an upgrade would only work properly from the latest alxmedia version to his first release. alxmedia wasn’t interested (or didn’t have the time) to bring the theme up to the new standards required by WordPress; alternatively this great theme would have been removed completely (dead & buried).
I’m still a happy user 2 years later!
They are back, but the previously all square thumbnails are now all of different dimensions – some landscape, some portrait sized, and all look even tinier than they were before!
Same here on http://dare2go.com – all I get is
“There are no posts to display. Want more traffic?”This is second time this has happened after a Jetpack update (first time was about a year ago). Then I was told that I needed to re-connect my Jetpack to my account, but this time it seems to be properly connected (as far as I was able to check).
