Hello @scottpaterson , I installed the new version and it seems to work without all the jQuery errors I had before 🙂 Thank you.
There’s an odd little issue though (cosmetic, not blocking), but I’ll open a new topic.
Hello, I have the same problem as described by @stonebriarweb on the login page where Wordfence has the 2FA form. I had to deactivate the Turnstile plugin to be able to log in.
@scottpaterson Thank you!
@wfpeter Hi, I know I can permanently block it, that’s what I’ll do, because that IP is going on since weeks…
That kind of IP is never assigned to a final client, so there’s no unwanted side effect, and I’m going to report it. Thank for your suggestions.
Hi @wfpeter I agree that it is a suspicious IP with an odd behaviour. I’m wondering what it’s trying to achieve. I’ll contact the abuse desk for 89.248.172.183 and let you know. In the meantime I’m going to block it permanently. Thank you for your support.
Hi @saranshwpm all right, I deleted the archive extension (I suggest that it should be automatically deactivated and deleted when the user update the main plugin to the 5.1 version), and now the ZIP format is shown in the UI.
April backups: I did nothing new, these are scheduled backups running monthly, as it was in the previous months. I have checked the settings of the current backup and they appear to be correct.
Backup Now: it worked, the local backup shows the 3 icons and the name is “2025-04-08_19-10-42_xx_DBDUMP-FILE-WPPLUGIN.zip” that differs from the 1st April one “2025-04-01_06-45-20_xx_FILE-WPPLUGIN.zip”.
I will let you know if the next scheduled backup will be created as a full backup or not.
Screenshots: https://postimg.cc/gallery/v6c1QtsWhy the Backup Now action doesn’t store the backup also remotely if the main settings have for example Dropbox or other third parties storage?
Thank you!

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Reduce plugin size@saranshwpm Hi, I don’t think the reasons are the third parties libraries, because BackWPup (Pro) 4.1.x weighed about 8 MB (zipped) whilst the new 5.0.x is almost 17 MB (zipped)!
@nimonogi Are you using the new default not compressed TAR archive? Is so, install the plugin helper to ZIP the backup (as it was before this ugly v. 5 release).

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Change archive nameUnfortunately you can’t. The new version has a lot less features and some really odd settings. I too hope they’ll bring back the custom archive naming.
Hello @saranshwpm , under “Backups History” only the backups created with this new horrible v 5.x are listed, there are no old backup jobs at all.
Settings means settings, not a place where you put backups or anything else. It’s not “less intuitive”, it’s just totally unlogical. Please bring back the old full features and menu. Thank you.
Hello @saranshwpm can you please explain why you decided yo use TAR as the default method? It’s 10x bigger than a ZIP archive! It’s not logical to add an helper just to select a compression method.
Hello @saranshwpm thank you for your reply, but I’m wondering why the decision of modifying so much a working plugin with many odd changes.
A backup plugin should create the smallest archive possible, and you are now using TAR without even the option to ZIP it? Do you understand that a zipped backup of about 140 MB now became a huge 1,2GB TAR file?! I don’t even dare to encrypt it…
New jobs: you mean I can’t modify a job? Are you kidding? So if I need to test different options, how is it possible, and how can you debug if something it’s not working?Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Accept Donations with PayPal & Stripe] Manual donation amount errorsHello @scottpaterson , yes I know the new setting, I’m saying that it didn’t work for me.
- The previous button just doesn’t save the new “Manual Entry”, it always automatically reverts to the Fixed value. So I had to create a new button.
- The field “Purpose / Name” is apparently not optional. If I don’t enter a description, PayPal returns a syntax error.
- How can I translate “Donation amount”? I also need to add some CSS to that field, now it’s not centered as the other elements in the box I’ve created.
Thank you!
Hello @wfpeter the IP setting detection was already correct. I now tried to add QUIC.cloud to the Trusted Proxy Preset becaseu that website is hosted on a LiteSpeed server with QUIC enabled. Let’s see if this is what is causing the 127.0.0.1 weird logging.
Otherwise, what could cause this issue? Thank you.
