Hi,
Thanks for the log. Your backup is restarting many times and eventually aborting because the server is stopping the process before it can finish. Your max_execution_time is only 60 seconds and the PHP memory limit is 128M, which is quite low for larger backups.
Please ask your host to increase the limits to something more suitable, such as:
• max_execution_time: 300 seconds or more
• memory_limit: 256M or 512MYou can also try reducing the size of the backup by excluding any very large folders under Settings → Exclude files.
Once those are adjusted, run a new backup and it should complete normally. Let me know if you still have issues.
Best regards,
BryleHi,
Thanks for the log. I checked it again and noticed that the backups from September to January do not show a “View log” button in your UpdraftPlus dashboard. When this happens, it usually means the backup is not from this site or is no longer present in remote storage.
Please click the “Rescan remote storage” link under UpdraftPlus > Existing Backups to refresh the list. This will let us confirm which backups are actually still in Google Drive.
After rescanning, please let me know if the missing backups reappear or if any of them now show a “View log” button. This will help us determine why old backups were not being deleted automatically.
Best regards,
BryleHi,
Thanks for the detailed report. I’ll address each point below and explain what’s happening.
- Restore failures on the other sites
From your description, the restoration is stopping early and even removing plugins, including UpdraftPlus. This usually happens when the hosting server terminates the process (timeout, memory limit, security rule, or PHP restriction).
To investigate further, please send the full restoration log from the failing site — this will show exactly where the process is being cut off. - Why backups occupy space locally on ShopNovaOnline.it
UpdraftPlus always creates the backup zip files locally first, then uploads them to Google Drive. Your plugins folder alone is 365 MB, which means the temporary/local backup will be quite large before upload. If footballempire.it previously showed “no local files,” it means its server automatically deleted the local zips after a successful upload, or the files were stored in a different directory not visible in your file manager. - How to prevent local copies from staying on the server
UpdraftPlus still needs local space to create the backup, but it can delete the zips after upload.
Please make sure this option is enabled:
Settings > Show expert settings > “Delete local backup after remote storage upload”
If this is already enabled and files remain, it usually means the upload is failing or incomplete.
Best regards,
BryleHi,
That message means WordPress did not fully unpack the plugin and the file http://ftp.class.php is missing. Please delete the entire updraftplus folder via FTP (/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus), then reinstall the plugin fresh from ww.wp.xz.cn.
Your settings and backups will stay intact. If the file is still missing after reinstalling, your host may be blocking WordPress from extracting files, so please ask them to check permissions and storage limits.
Best regards,
BryleHi,
Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.
We’re aware of this issue and our development team is already working on a fix. It’s currently in the testing phase and should be included in one of the next one or two plugin releases.
I hope that helps! If you need anything else, just let us know.
Best regards,
BryleHi,
To help us work out the cause of your problem, can you please send us a copy of the full backup log?
This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab. The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] mysqldump ErrorHi,
This error comes from mysqldump, not UpdraftPlus. It happens when your database is newer than the mysqldump tool on your server, which doesn’t recognize the generation_expression column. Please ask your host to update mysqldump to match the database version.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Popups are transparentHi,
The pop-up should not appear transparent by default, so this usually points to a CSS conflict coming from the theme or another plugin.
A few quick checks to help narrow it down:
1. Temporarily switch to a default theme (e.g., Twenty Twenty-Four) and see if the popup displays correctly.
2. Disable other admin-UI–related plugins (especially styling, dark mode, or admin customization plugins).
3. Open your browser dev tools → Inspector → check if any CSS rules are overridingThanks,

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Updraft PlusHi,
Thanks for reaching out!
UpdraftPlus can back up your whole site, but it does not support restoring individual pages. WordPress doesn’t store pages as standalone files, so page-level restore isn’t possible. You would need to restore the database portion only and copy the content manually from the restored site (usually done on a staging copy).
Thanks,

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Recover backup for a websiteHi,
Backups are by default saved on your local server in the “wp-content/updraft” folder. If saving to a remote storage, you can also download it directly from there.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Need to find a support resourceHi,
To help us work out the cause of your problem, can you please send us a copy of the restoration log only?
You can find this log in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory of your site via FTP.
You can send the log file and copy the contents into an online tool (such as http://pastebin.com/ )
Regards,
BryleHi,
Thanks for reaching out! To help us check what happened, please share a copy of the migration log from the site where you performed the restore.
You can find it in your site files under: /wp-content/updraft/
Look for a .txt files that matches the time of your last migration attempt. You can upload it to a file-sharing service (like Pastebin or Google Drive) and share the link here.
Once we have the log, we’ll take a closer look and advise on the next steps.

BryleHi,
Thanks for the update. Since Dropbox isn’t currently configured, please double-check your UpdraftPlus settings and make sure Dropbox is deselected as your remote storage option. After that, click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
If the error still appears, try using the “Wipe settings” option under Settings → Advanced Tools to reset UpdraftPlus back to its default state. Then reconfigure your backup settings.
Let me know how it goes!

BryleHi,
Thanks for reporting this. To check what’s causing the fatal error, please send us a copy of your backup log file.
You can find it in wp-content/updraft/ via FTP or your host’s File Manager. The file name starts with log. followed by a string of letters and numbers.
Once you’ve uploaded the log to an online service (like Pastebin, Google Drive, or Dropbox), please share the link here so we can review it.
