Hi @frdmsun,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I’m so sorry for the delay here and for any frustration caused. I’ve been trying to investigate the issue raised here, to better understand what might be happening, as well as consult with our team about it.
Although we do try to provide as much value as possible to our users by showcasing per post or page tracking features (because a lot of users aren’t aware of them and can benefit greatly), the MonsterInsights metabox in the Gutenberg Editor sits under the status & visibility metabox, meanwhile if using the Classic Editor it may appear at the top by default. The metaboxes in either editor are collapsible, and if using the Classic Editor, the metabox can be moved into a different position.
However, if something is appearing where it shouldn’t be, I’d love to better understand where. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to locate anything under the Advanced tab, but I realize I could be misunderstanding something. Would you be able to reach out to us at https://www.monsterinsights.com/get-help/ and share a screenshot of what you’re seeing? We’ll be happy to take a closer look at things for you.
Thanks so much!
Hi @josklever,
Thanks for sharing your feedback. I apologize for the frustration here.
It’s not our intent to cause confusion with the recommended plugins. We try to provide as much value as possible to our users by suggesting plugins that we integrate with directly for more features, because a lot of users aren’t aware of them and can benefit greatly.
When getting started with UserFeedback, while in step 3 of 5 of the setup wizard (in the Which UserFeedback features would you like to enable? page), you’ll be able to see text indicating Installs [plugin name] if those options are selected. If you would prefer to not use any suggested plugins, you’ll be able to deselect them for installation in the Setup Wizard. Here’s an example gif of how to deselect them: https://a.supportally.com/i/JylIWC
Or if you decide after completing the setup wizard to not use the suggested plugins, you’ll be able to remove them like other WordPress plugins.
That being said, to reiterate similar sentiments in the thread about this, we’re truly sorry for the issues caused by our release. We’ve made changes to ensure this doesn’t happen moving forward.
We really appreciate you for giving us a try and if you have any further feedback, please feel welcome to let me know.
Thank you.
Hi @webdesigningfactory ,
Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. I’m sorry for any frustration or confusion here.
Similar to my reply at https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/plugin-installed-additional-plugins-without-permission, MonsterInsights is never shared access to your Google Account.
Google explicitly states that it does not share your Google Account password with the third-party app or service, so when clicking Allow, it does not grant the MonsterInsights plugin access to your entire Google Account. In case you’d like to learn more, please read about how Google helps you share data safely: https://support.google.com/accounts?p=3P-apps-with-access
So while you may see messaging that MonsterInsights requires access your Google Account during the authentication process, the permissions we require are explicitly listed out specifically for Analytics, Ads and Search Console during this step. Granting these permissions only allows MonsterInsights to work seamlessly with your Google Analytics property. For more details on these permissions, please see our guide here: https://www.monsterinsights.com/docs/google-permissions-for-oauth/
If you need help recovering access to your Google Analytics account, please try out Google’s troubleshooter here: https://support.google.com/analytics/troubleshooter/7264014?hl=en
If you’re having different issues, our team is happy to help if you could share more details about the trouble you’re running into at here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/google-analytics-for-wordpress/, where we’ll be able to better serve you.
We really appreciate you for giving us a try. If you have any further feedback, please let me know and I’ll be happy to forward it to the rest of the team.
Thank you.
Hi @dreefi and @webdesigningfactory,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I’m sorry for any frustration caused.
We try to provide as much value as possible to our users by suggesting plugins that we integrate with directly for more reporting features, because a lot of users aren’t aware of them and can benefit greatly.
This is shown within the setup wizard, when clicking Continue while in step 4 of 5 (in the Which website features would you like to enable? page), you’ll be able to see text indicating The following plugins will be installed… if those options are selected.
If you would prefer to not use our suggested plugins, you’ll be able to either deselect them for installation in the Setup Wizard under the Add Recommended Plugins To My Website option, skip that step entirely by clicking on Skip for Now, or if you decide after completing the setup wizard to not use them, you’ll be able to remove them like other WordPress plugins.

MonsterInsights itself aims to add as little overhead as possible on the frontend for your visitors.
We load the Google Analytics script directly from Google because it’s usually cached in your visitors’ browsers, as it’s used on millions of sites. Besides that, our frontend tracking features script is optimized and very specific tracking functionality is only loaded where needed.
On the admin side, our interface is fully built using a modern JavaScript framework that makes it fast to load async without using up a lot of resources.
However, we understand the importance of site performance and in case it helps, we have a guide on how to speed up your site, to help further improve your score here: https://www.monsterinsights.com/speed-up-your-wordpress-site/
We really appreciate you for giving us a try. If you have any further feedback, please let me know and I’ll be happy to forward it to the rest of the team.
Thank you.

Hi @phokxx,
Thanks for reaching out! I’m sorry for the trouble here.
Would you be able to try updating the MonsterInsights plugin to the latest version? Once done, please try going through the authentication process once more at Insights » Settings. You should be prompted to select your preferred Google account moving forward.
Please let me know how it goes, or if you continue to have issues, please share a link to a screenshot of any errors you might be running into. That’ll be a big help in continuing to help troubleshoot things 🙂
Thanks so much!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I checked in with our team about this, and although we don’t currently have plans to refactor, I’ve gone ahead and opened a feature request to keep this in mind down the road.
I hope that helps, but let me know if you have further questions or thoughts to share.
Sincerely.
