In reply to: [Real Cookie Banner: GDPR & ePrivacy Cookie Consent] Koko AnalyticsHi Ralf,
if you go in your WordPress to Cookies > Services > Koko Analytis (created by yourself) > Edit, you have to add all cookies to the “Technical cookie information” section. In addition, you have to activate the option “Delete all first-party cookies after opt-out. First-party cookies are only cookies that are set by or for this domain.” in the section “Technical handling”.
Afterwards, once the user opt-out, all first party cookies of the service will be deleted.
Best regards,
Jan

In reply to: [Real Cookie Banner: GDPR & ePrivacy Cookie Consent] Koko AnalyticsHi Ralf,
Thank you for your inquiry. Your solution is a bit hacky, as I understand you are misusing the Do Not Track functions a bit.
We have a service template with a clean integration, which it needs due to the architecture of Koko Analytics, already on our to-do list.
However, please note that we currently receive a lot of requests for new service templates, so we have to prioritize its implementation. The template you requested has not been requested very often yet, so I have to ask you for some patience. Currently, we expect a waiting time of more than two month.
We will come back to you by as soon as the service template is available in Real Cookie Banner!
Best regards,
Jan

In reply to: [Real Cookie Banner: GDPR & ePrivacy Cookie Consent] webpack://Hallo @artlemon,

Hi Marc,
Thank you for your feedback. We have been closely monitoring the warning waves in Germany and Austria, as Real Cookie Banner is used by many website owners from both countries, and we are also from Germany.
We must point out that the following statements do not constitute legal advice. Therefore, I can only give you evaluations from our intensive experience with the EU legal regulations in practice and a technical assessment of the situation.
“Basically, any file that runs on a server other than the domain called up is already a danger in the future.”
Unfortunately, I have to disagree with this statement, as it requires a differentiated legal approach.
In answering this question, the ruling of the Regional Court Munich I of 20.01.2022 Az. 3 O 17493/20 plays an important role. The Munich I Regional Court ruled that the (automatic) forwarding of the IP address by the
website operator to Google or Google Fonts without the consent of the website visitor constitutes a data protection violation. The standard of assessment here is the abstract technical necessity and not the easiest way for the website operator. This also applies outside of Google Fonts in other cases. In addition, Google transfers the personal data to a third country in accordance with Article 49 (1) of the GDPR, for which there is no adequacy decision and no appropriate safeguards. As explained in the previous answer, we see a legitimate interest under Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR by a technical necessity. If we were to store all images in the WordPress plugin, this would become so large that many web hosts would no longer be able to install it. With web hosting in Germany and contract processing agreements with all relevant providers, we are also sure that your data is safe in terms of the GDPR.
Consequently, I see no need for action here. If you have a different legal opinion, please let us know with your arguments and legal basis!
Best regards,
Jan
Hallo @ffwebdesigner,

Hi Marc,
Thank you for your inquiry. We take your privacy concerns seriously.
assets.devowl.io is a part of our infrastructure, which allows us to deliver e.g. images that cannot be delivered directly in the WordPress plugin, because otherwise the size of the plugin would become so large that many webhostings would refuse to install the plugin. From this, we generally establish a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.
The server on which assets.devowl.io runs at netcup GmbH (company location and server location in Germany). In addition, we use solutions from Cloudflare to ensure the security of our servers. With both providers, we have of course concluded order processing contracts to ensure the security of your personal data such as your IP address. This is explained in more detail in our privacy policy, which you will find linked after installation. If you have not read it yet, you can read more details at any time at https://devowl.io/privacy-policy/.
Consequently, I do not see any data protection problem here. Where exactly do you see a problem and on what legal basis?
Best regards,
Jan

Hi @duongcuong96,
We opened the bug report on August 02, 2022 as requested, but have not received a response until now. Can you say until when someone of your team can take a look at the bug?

Hi @polarracing,
In summary, we would like to present the problem for all readers: With the last two releases, we rebuilt a functionality that caused some WordPress security plugins to incorrectly detect Real Cookie Banner as malware. Due to the rebuild, some caching plugins – including presumably yours – let Real Cookie Banner’s settings load too late, due to their optimization, which prevented the cookie banner from displaying.
We have been working on the issue all day today and think we have solved the problem for all affected caching plugins with version 3.1.6, which has just been released. Please install the update and let me know shortly if it solves the problem for you too!
I apologize for any inconvenience caused!
Best regards,
Jan

In reply to: [Real Cookie Banner: GDPR & ePrivacy Cookie Consent] WP Rocket CacheHallo @ralfkerkhoff,
Jan
Hi @polarracing,
We think we have solved the problem. With the last release, we rebuilt a functionality that caused some WordPress security plugins to incorrectly detect Real Cookie Banner as malware. Due to the change, some caching plugins – including yours – let the settings of Real Cookie Banner load too late due to its optimization, which meant that the cookie banner could no longer be displayed.
Attached, you will find a pre-release of the plugin. This solves the problem you mentioned. You can simply upload this version to your WordPress and replace it with the current version (Plugins > Add new > Upload Plugin). When the next version of the plugin incl. the pre-released feature is available for all users, you will see it as a normal update in your WordPress.
Download pre-release: https://storage-dev-1.owlsrv.de/prereleases/7ad2313c-9ef8-4215-bd6c-185ecf3eeb7c/real-cookie-banner-3.1.5-13430-plugin.zip
Does it solve the issue for you?
Best regards,
Jan
