Hi @jesusinica,
Thank you for your topic!
The main goal of alt attribute is showing something if the image is not loading. However, near the business image there’s a name which duplicates the same text like in the alt attribute and if the image is not showing and alt attribute if filled, you will see two same names one after another. This creates a new problem and will not pass the WAVE (Web Accessibility Evaluation) test. Due this we removed alt content (left this attribute empty) in case the name is visible. If you disabled company name, the alt will be filled.
From an SEO point of view there’re no issues. Because it’s not a problem and if you need to index business name it will be indexed correctly in both cases, if name is present and if not.
For screen readers, this makes no sense if the image is not displayed on the screen anyway. Also, you can enable option in your reviews widget Advance Options / Enable ARIA label for screen readers especially for screen readers.
Please let us know if you have any questions/suggestions.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Pasted URL, nothing happensHi @djepayne,
Thank you for your topic.
By this link I don’t see rating and reviews, so to connect place in the plugin you should have at least one review.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

In reply to: [Rich Showcase for Google Reviews] Error when trying to update reviewHi @fantou,
Thank you for your topic.
The plugin support IP address restriction for the Google API key. Please add IP restriction for your API key in Google Console, for instance, you can use your local IP address. After 5-10 minutes, go to the page in wp-admin: Google Reviews / Settings / Google and save your API key. You should see error message about IP restriction of the key and IP address (it should be IP4 or 6), so copy & paste this address (from the error message) instead of your saved in Google Console and after 5-10 minutes all should work correctly.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Thank you for your topic.
It seems you selected only ‘Large desktop’ view, but how about other (table, mobile etc)? It should be also defined. Please use ‘+’ (plus) button to add other layouts:

Thank you for your response.
We manually cleared all caches for all your three Google places and now you just need to edit each of the three review widgets and click ‘Update reviews‘ button in the connected Google location, for instance:

Please let us know if you have any other quesitons.

Hi @cassandramullet,
Thank you for your answer.
Unfortunately, the new Places API does not return recent reviews because it doesn’t support recent sorting option like in the old API. It returns only most-relevant 5 reviews. So, in your case we recommend to update reviews manually without API key.
However, to detailed check that, please send debug information from the page in wp-admin: Google Reviews / Settings / Advance tab. You need to click the ‘Copy Debug Information‘ button, paste copied to this reply and send it to us.
Please use ‘Pastebin‘ service for this info.
Thanks!

Hi @cassandramullet,
Thank you for your response.
Please turn off the option ‘Use old Places API‘ on the page in wp-admin Google Reviews / Settings / Google or delete your own Google API key on the Settings page and try to connect your second place.
Let us know if there’re any problems with this.
Thanks!

Sorry, if you need to solve the problem, just please send the link to your Google map URL, the reviews for which need to be updated.
Thanks!
Thank you for your topic.
The message “The place you are trying to connect to does not have a rating yet” doesn’t fully reflect the real issue — it simply means that the system couldn’t find the previously saved cache for the selected place.
We’ve recently changed the way reviews are connected only for users who are not using their own Google API key. If you have many places connected, using your own API key is necessary to keep the reviews updated.
Please send us the Google Maps link of the place for which you need to refresh the reviews. We will manually clear the cache and temporarily remove the current limit, so you can try updating it again.
Thank you for your understanding.
Thank you for your topic.
Sorry, if this message is not explain the issue, but in this case you just need to reconnect your Google place again.
So, first of all, please make sure that you’re not using your own Google API key, if so, edit your reviews widget and click Connect Google button. In the search form, please paste your full Google map URL of your business, select language if needed and click Connect button. It should reconnect and update current reviews.
Please let us know if something is wrong in this case.
Thanks!
