In reply to: [Real Cookie Banner: GDPR & ePrivacy Cookie Consent] Doesn’t workHi @tik0,
I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with Real Cookie Banner. At the same time, it’s a pity to see that you give us a 1-star rating before asking for help.
Are you perhaps using an adblocker or script blocker in your browser? If so, please disable it for your own website. They often mistakenly block Real Cookie Banner’s dashboard as well.
For further help, you can always open a support ticket at devowl.io/support. I am confident that we will find a solution for your problem as well!
Best regards,
Jan
Hi @regnalf,
Thank you for your request. It is not a solution to delete the cookie from Download Manager via JavaScript because according to our legal opinion, it must not be set in the first place.
We have been trying to work out a privacy-compliant implementation with the plugin’s developer for quite some time. You can view the history of the conversation at https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/device-id-calculated-with-ip/. Unfortunately, we are currently waiting for feedback from the developer.
As soon as an integration and a service template is implemented, we will let you know here!
Best regards,
Jan
Hi @portmaconline,
I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the licensing system of Real Thumbnail Generator.
Only the checkbox “I allow to transfer technical data about this WordPress installation to the update server of devowl.io and get latest announcements. This data is required for license activation and update functionality. I have read the [privacy policy](https://devowl.io/privacy-policy) of devowl.io.” you have to check to activate the license. In doing so, we obtain explicit consent to transfer data, which most WordPress plugin vendors transfer in the background without your consent or knowledge. The privacy policy explains the data collection in more detail:
During the license activation and on check for a new software version, the following data must always be transmitted and stored, if known, to ensure the functionality of the license server:
* Operating system version
* Browser version
* Host name of the e.g. website that uses in the software
* WordPress version
* WordPress language
* PHP versionThe above mentioned data will be used to
1. ship updates of the software which are compatible with the requesting software environment.
2. assigning licenses to support cases in order to be able to provide customers with professional information. You can read further explanations in detail in the privacy policy at https://devowl.io/privacy-policy/#m878.
The collection of this data is technically necessary as part of our due diligence and in your interest, for example, not to install an update that would no longer be compatible with your WordPress version that is not kept up to date and could thus destroy your website.
We would like to point out that we do not collect any unnecessary data or pass it on to third parties and strongly reject this misstatement.
In addition, we would like to explicitly point out that you can use the plugin without restrictions in accordance with the GPL license agreement and the ww.wp.xz.cn rules by clicking “Continue without regular updates and without any support” in the license dialog.
I hope the explanation helps clear up these misconceptions, and I’d be happy if you reconsidered your rating according!
Best regards,
Jan
Hi @touto,
thanks for your request. We must point out that the following statements do not constitute legal advice. Therefore, I can only give you evaluations from our intensive experience with the EU legal regulations in practice and a technical assessment of the situation.
Real Cookie Banner is currently optimized for the requirements of the legislator in Germany and Austria, which implement the EU directives and regulations.
It is therefore necessary to give your visitors as easy as consent the possibility to view the history of consent, change consent or revoke it. Currently, according to German data protection authorities’ guidance (German), we assume that you must place the links on each subpage (e.g. in the footer of the website), because placing them in the privacy policy is unreasonably hidden for your website visitors.
A list of cookies for your privacy policy apart from the history of consents, in which all cookies are also listed, we consider to be unnecessary for Germany and Austria. In other EU countries the situation is different, so this feature is already planned.
Legal pages such as a privacy policy or an imprint can not generate Real Cookie Banner. We also view Complianz’s approach here critically, since these legal documents must be designed differently in detail from country to country in which you are located as a website operator. Whether Complianz can do this, we can not judge because we are not lawyers for law in the whole EU. However, if you compare documents generated by their tool with comparable documents generated by local lawyers, you will find significant differences in our experience. Therefore, we always advise having these documents prepared by a lawyer or a tool of a lawyer in your respective country.
I hope these explanations help you out!
Best regards,
Jan

Hi @brisch,
Unfortunately, we have not yet received an answer from you to our inquiry a week ago. We would like to help you, but we are dependent on your cooperation.
I am looking forward to your timely feedback!
Best regards
Jan
Hallo @brisch,
Jan
Hi @brisch,
First of all, please excuse our delayed response to your review.
You opened a support ticket on April 29, 2022 in which you wrote that you had a problem with an adblocker. You did not specify which adblocker it was.
We responded to your concerns and problems on May 02, 2022. We asked the following question because we could not reproduce the problem with the unspecified adblocker:
(translated in English: “Which adblocker with which settings (especially filter lists) are you specifically using to reproduce the problem?”)
Unfortunately, we have not received any response from you anymore. Without your cooperation, it is unfortunately not possible to solve the possible problem.
I have tried again to reproduce the behavior you described on your website with Ghostery in the default settings. Unfortunately, as you can see at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SOuDQCi5QxojpD-jwVbzjCTPGasL91qX/view?usp=sharing, I cannot reproduce your problem.
We would appreciate feedback on our questions from you to be able to reproduce your problem and then offer you a solution!
Best regards,
Jan
Hi @manoj718,
I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with Real Cookie Banner.
Real Cookie Banner offers you all the features to be able to set up a legally compliant cookie banner in the free version. Also, for Google Analytics you can easily get consent in the free version! Just go to Cookies > Services (Cookies) > Add service in your WordPress backend and create the service individually.
In the following free articles in our knowledge base we help you with the correct setup:
- What do I need consents for?
- How do I create a custom service?
- How do I create a custom content blocker?
The service templates (e.g. for Google Analytics) are only to make things easier. We put 2-5 hours of work into researching legal and technical information in each service template. I hope you understand that with over 140 service templates, we can’t take hundreds of hours of work from you completely free of charge to refinance Real Cookie Banner and the work of our several person full-time team behind it.
Therefore, we would be happy if you would reconsider your rating 🙂
Best regards,
Jan
Hi @notboring,
Thank you for your feedback. I think you misunderstood your claim of a forced data transfer, which is why we would like to explain this again here.
Only the checkbox ”
I allow to transfer technical data about this WordPress installation to the update server of devowl.io and get latest announcements. This data is required for license activation and update functionality. I have read the privacy policy of devowl.io.” you have to activate in order to activate the license. In doing so, we obtain explicit consent to transfer data, which most WordPress plugin vendors transfer in the background without your consent or knowledge. The privacy policy explains the data collection in more detail in the section at https://devowl.io/privacy-policy/#m878.The collection of this data is technically necessary as part of our due diligence and in your interest, for example, not to install an update that would no longer be compatible with your WordPress version that is not kept up to date and could thus destroy your website.
Access to external resources such as our servers that deploy updates may request a license key, which is implemented in Real Media Library. The update mechanism in the WordPress plugin without access to our servers will of course work without an activated license.
If you don’t want to activate the license key to access our license and update server, you can use Real Media Library without activating a license key. In that case, you can easily download updates of the WordPress plugin manually at https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/real-media-library-lite/ (free version) or https://devowl.io/account (PRO version). The updates are available via automatic update or manual update for lifetime.
I hope the explanations have cleared your concerns!
Best regards,
Jan

Hallo Hans,
Jan

Hallo @aaalan,
Since your website is in German, I assume that you speak German and I continue in German.
Jan

In reply to: [Real Media Library: Media Library Folder & File Manager] not ‘real’ at allHi @mttindustries-1,
I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with Real Media Library. However, we explicitly do not promise you the feature you want.
In the FAQs of the Real Media Library product description, we write:
Does the plugin touch the file structure of my uploads?
No, only a virtual folder structure is created. If you want to rearrange the file structure, please have a look at our add-on Real Physical Media.
We would therefore appreciate if you could reconsider whether a 1-star rating is justified for a feature that we do not promise.
Thank you!
Best regards,
Jan
Hallo @johannschnagl,
