Yes, by default the plugin can connect 5 Google places without own API key, you can see video how it works here:
When 5 connection spent, it requires to create your own Google API key which is very simple to do by extremely detailed instruction placed on the page: Google Reviews / Support / Full Installation Guide.

Google Places does not support Portuguese – BRAZIL (pt_BR) language, only Portuguese (pt), so just change the language in the connected Google place and the reviews should be visible.

Please check that your Google place has a physical address and it’s not a service or virtual area.
Unfortunately, some time ago Google API stopped working with virtual or service areas. It’s a limitation of Google, not us or the plugin and according to this we can’t make a workaround for this. It will work only if you apply a physical address in your GMB dashboard for your Google business.

The plugin uses the Google Places API to get your reviews. The API only returns the 5 most helpful reviews. When Google changes the 5 most helpful the plugin will automatically add the new one to your database. Thus slowly building up a database of reviews. It’s a limitation of Google, not specifically the plugin.
The plugin can only download what Google returns in their Places API. It is usually the 5 Most Helpful (not newest) reviews. You can check what the API returns by entering your Place ID and Google API key in this url:
However, if you got new reviews for your Google place, but the plugin does not show these, it means that Google didn’t include it to 5 most helpful and the plugin just can’t get this. It’s a limitation of Google, not the plugin.

Without real example on your public website, it’s not possible exactly determinate the problem because issue can be not in theme only, in most cases it’s a conflict with your own styles.
However, I’m sure that we will resolve this issue instantly when you will make your site live and I’m sure it will take few time.

Yes, sure, the business plugin shows all reviews with constantly auto synced.
However, in the free plugin it’s also possible, just make sure that you have created your own Google API key and saved in the Setting.
Here on the page you can read extremely detailed manual how to create API key: Google Reviews / Support / Full Installation Guide.
If you already did that, please send debug information here to our check if there’s some issue with that.
Also, you can update the reviews, rating and count manually, just reconnect your Google place, please see here how:
